El Vaso de Oro is a place that will be forever in my life. in 2019 I've visited this place with my family coming from America. I'm actually a Brazilian and what I miss more where I live in America is to meet warm and friendly ppl in restaurants. I walked in with my 5 y/o on my arms sleeping and everybody stood up and said: familia giving us seats. Once we got to the balcony we had the most nice and friendly interaction with the staff which recommended us the best tapas. Not only the staff are nice but also the people that are regular also nice. You can feel the sense of community that and I understood I was not part of it, but I could feel a little bit and it was really important to me. I do see a lot of reviews sometimes where people feel left out but if you come to this place willing to understand how busy it is and how hard the staff work and observe the people around eating and chatting you will have an amazing time. Just follow the flow. I've just returned and one of the waiters, a gentleman with glasses attended us and gave us the best tapas ever. I had my kid again with us, but now 9 y/o and he was nice and kind to him celebrating the fact my kid liked their sandwich. Same when my spouse repeatedly would tell him how good the food was. I do think this is the same gentleman with glasses that attended us in 2019, he might not remember us but I will always remember him, he made me think about living in Spain and I hope one day this will...
Read moreThere were a lot of people, and many types of fish and shrimp were sold out, so we couldn’t try them, which was a pity. The elderly gentleman in charge of greeting and seating guests was very friendly. With so many people, he had to manage the order of arrivals and handle orders at the same time—it wasn’t easy. He used a simple and effective way to confirm the doneness of our steak. At least we got to enjoy the seared foie gras and steak. The steak was excellent, and the foie gras had a deliciously caramelized flavor. For me personally, I would have preferred the foie gras to be cooked a bit more. The beer was great. Our biggest regret was ordering too few dishes—we should’ve tried more. The portions weren’t very large. We were lucky, as the restaurant was fully packed, but we only waited about ten minutes before getting a seat. A long queue formed behind us, but the turnover was quite fast, and those waiting were seated within 20 to 40 minutes. We were so focused on enjoying the food and drinks that we quickly finished everything, leaving no time to...

Me and my boyfriend had been looking for the best tapas in Barcelona and the reviews on this particular place convinced us. I don’t know if these reviews are genuine but the food here combined with the price was atrocious. “Best tapas” how?? My bf tried the sirloin with foie after reading amazing reviews on the dish but it was basically eating pure oil with chewy beef for over 22 euros?...appalling. I tried the grilled tuna with peppers which was not as bad but still not worth the money. We ordered an additional side and two drinks which in total came to 55 euros which we believe was completely overpriced especially how it wasn’t a nice, fancy sit- down restaurant at all. Although the waiter that served us was friendly, it seemed as if he was talking about us to his fellow locals who were also eating there the same time.. but who knows.
We ate in a fine dining restaurant with bigger portions plus alcohol all for 42 euros (La Fonda) where me and my bf were 100% satisfied.
