Food is amazing, and I’ve been and eaten in Mexico many times. Honestly, very authentic. The turn off is the outdoors seating policy, or actually the absence of it. One day we come-sorry, you only have 30 min please make reservation next time. Ok, next time we call-we don’t take reservations, just come. Are you sure? Last time you said we should call? Yeah yeah, just come. Ok, we come, we wait for a table, finally get it and immediately being told that we only have less than 1 hr because the table is reserved. And all of this with attitude. So…do you take reservations or not? I was also watching people trying to sit and every group was getting different treatment. Some was told nothing and given a table, some were declined saying it was reserved though table remained empty (all people wanted to eat). While we were told about 1 hr allowance, the neighbor table wasn’t told anything. I even asked the neighbor customers to confirm it as I was getting really frustrated. I understand that the restaurant is small and they try to turn over the tables fast, but probably the way it is communicated to customers could be more efficient. You can add a minimum spend for the terrace tables, maybe put additional tables if you can or I don’t know, simply word all of this in a more friendly manner. “You have 1 hr”shouldn’t be the first thing you say to your clients before even taking the order (regular clients!) We used to come every week or two because the food is really incredible, but dealing with simply getting a table is just tiring. And if you’re planing to respond in a defensive manner, please don’t waste your time-you will only...
Read moreIt was my first time in Barcelona and a local friend was showing me her beautiful city. She told me this place was Mexican, so we wanted to have a margarita. Inside seemed empty, so we asked to seat and have a Margarita, the waitress told us we can only sit in a table if we were going to have dinner and offer us to sit on a stool bar. My friend recently had a hip operation so we explained him she can not sit on a stool. He answered in a very rude way that tables were only to eat and if we only wanted a margarita there was the stool bar....
In any case I am so grateful since we went for a Margarita to another Mexican restaurant (Oaxaca) the treatment was so different! We could seat in a nice table and at that time we were hungry (yes only 15 minutes after) so we asked for a table for dinner, the waitress in a very nice way say they were fully booked and without reservation it would be difficult, but offer us to sit have our margarita (in a nice table) and if she could get a table for dinner for us she will call us, which she did. What a difference!!!!
Yes maybe Oaxaca is more expensive but the dinner, margaritas and service were outstanding!
I will never even try to sit at this Costa Pacifico nor recommend it, for me the service, kindness and humanity is important, and the best ingredient for good food.... that I did not try but if they treat their food as their customers, I just can...
Read moreMe and my brother wanted some fresh ceviche for lunch, and we found a place we’ll definitely come back. Good food, fast service, decent proportions and an OK price. The place: It’s a small and modern yet rustic looking “cevichería”, with strong beach vibes, like you somehow were transported somewhere on the coast of Mexico. We arrived quite early for Spanish dining time and the place was quite empty, but as time passed it got crowded. The food: There’s a pretty good menu that includes an aperitive, a main course, drink and dessert for 13€ (16€ if you want ceviche, which you really do). We got ourselves some delicious guacamole with some pomegranate on top which was really good, maybe a bit more of pomegranate would’ve been nice. Then we got the prawn and octopus ceviche and the classical ceviche as our main courses, and I have to say I was impressed, especially with the octopus. Flavorful and fresh, perfect for a quick lunch during the hot Spanish summers. As for the dessert, we both decided on the mango sorbet and it was the perfect ending for a good meal. Overall: I feel like it was a bit pricey for the amount of food. Don’t get me wrong, we were satisfied after the meal, but you won’t walk out completely full and at 16€ you can get better deals in other places in Barcelona. Quality wise, it...
