Our experience at Murivecchi Restaurant was incredibly disappointing, and we cannot recommend it to anyone. From the moment we arrived, the behavior of the staff, particularly a lady with blue hair and an unprofessional, ridiculous laugh, left us shocked.
We arrived at 12:59 PM, even though the restaurant had already been open since 12:00 PM. Upon asking to stay outside, the staff told us that all outdoor tables were reserved. Although we were fine with this and agreed to sit inside, we were surprised to find the entire restaurant completely empty. All tables, both inside and outside, were unoccupied, and we were clearly the first guests of the day.
The staff then directed us to a table at the back of the restaurant. Just before seating us, they informed us that we had to leave by 2:15 PM because the table was supposedly reserved. This was confusing since the restaurant was still completely empty. Nevertheless, we agreed and proceeded to sit down. Moments later, the same lady returned and asked us to stand up and move to a different table for no clear reason.
At this point, we decided enough was enough and left the restaurant altogether. The unprofessional behavior, lack of respect, and disorganization were appalling. As tourists, we expected better treatment and a warm welcome, especially in a city as vibrant as Barcelona.
Final Thoughts
The behavior of the staff deserves a 0/10, and we cannot recommend Murivecchi Restaurant to anyone. It was an unpleasant experience that left us feeling unwelcome and frustrated. We will never return to this restaurant and will make sure to advise our family and friends to avoid it as well. Save your time and money—there are plenty of better options...
Read moreHave been many times and usually it's great but today had slow and inattentive service. The woman who took our order was fine, but a young man (not sure if he was a manager?) was indifferent and quite rude. We booked a table for 8, arriving about 13.45 and agreed to leave by 3pm for another booking. We waited ages for our main courses which seemed to have been forgotten. We were a table with kids and some kids pizzas were brought out with the first course but the other kids had to wait until the second course. The delay meant some of the kids were finished long before their friends got their pizza. We asked about it and we're just told it was coming, no sense of urgency or acknowledgement of the long wait, let alone apology. We didn't complain, but it was very frustrating to be told when we gathering our stuff to go that we had to hurry up and leave as they had another booking. We would have been ready to leave much earlier if the food hadn't taken so long! We hadn't bothered to complain but as we left I tried to gently let the guy know that it's a bit much to be told to hurry up and leave after you've been kept waiting with hungry kids for half an hour. He wasn't interested, just gave me some excuses and tried to show me his booking sheet, no apology, so I gave up. All that was needed was an acknowledgement that the delay was not our fault, basic stuff. He gave the impression that he didn't really understand what had happened and he certainly didn't care. It was annoying because I had recommended Murivecchi to my friends, who hadn't been before. I won't be making that...
Read moreDANGEROUS: We went there a couple of times during the pandemic to grab their pizza kit, and it was increidibly delicious when we prepared them at home. Therefore, we decided to go to have dinner at the restaurant, mainly looking for the pasta that is served in a pecorino cheese, and our surprise was DISGUSTING. They brought the cheese on a tray withe the pasta in it. We started having the pasta in the cheese itself, without sharing it in our own plates because we found it something special to be eating straight from a cheese. After a few minutes, the waiter came and asked us to return the plate. We thought he meant to return the tray itself, BUT NO, he asked us to share the pasta we hadnt eaten yet left in the cheeese in our plates because he needed the cheese back. We were so shocked that we didnt react and did what he asked for, so we finished the pasta in our own plates and he took the cheeze back. Once we finished with the rest of thw dinner and were about to pay, we asked the waiter why he asked us to return the cheese without finishing. SO PAY ATTENTION HERE: THEY REUSE THE CHEESE!!! SO BASICALLY, THEY USE THE SAME CHEESE FOR EVERYBODY THAT ASKS FOR THE THE PLATE!!! SO BASICALLY THEY USE AN ORGANIC PRODUCT ONCE OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN FOR DIFFERENT CLIENTS AND ORDERS!!! DISGUSTING!! IT IS VERY UNSAFE EVEN MORE IN THIS TIME WITH THE PANDEMIC... UP TO YOU, BUT I AM DEFINITELY NOT GOING THERE ANYMORE... I ATE FROM THE SAME CHEESE MANY PEOPLE HAD EATEN BEFORE... D. I. S. G. U....
