Came by this place by chance, and have been coming back ever since.
I never heard of malatang before, but since my first try I have been in love.
For those unfamiliar; malatang is basically a one person hot-pot, where you pick your ingredients and broth from a wide selection, then the chef will prepare it for you and bring it out in a bowl similar to ramen.
Since I am a fan of spicy food I find it can be difficult in Spain to find something truly mouth numbing, so the word mala caught my attention immediately.
Their bone broth is AMAZING, better than in some tonkotsu I’ve had, and the heat level is up to you (super spicy IS super spicy, not ‘Spanish spicy’ which is the spice level of a paprika basically, but still comes with a heat warning in most restaurants).
I highly recommend this place, it’s affordable (you pay by weight of the ingredients), highly customisable, and a great (if not better) substitute for ramen, which is not represented well in Barcelona since it became a hype food.
IMHO it will not take long before malatang will be more (main stream) popular than ramen and sushi, I have been officially converted.

Read moreFamily run restaurant, (very nice family!!) offer authentic dumpling dishes, and some simple but delicious qingdao (northern Chinese) cuisine. - - Mama makes few thousand dumplings by hand,!!
Opening 7 days, 12:00-24:00, perfect for visitors who didn't get use to Barcelona's dining time tables. If you are a "normal person" who have dinner around 6pm, just go there, very likely they are ready to serve.
Also, if you happen to rent an apartment around, they can sell you dumpling frozen with discount. You can cook whatever ways you like. For me, dumpling is good for breakfast,, lunch,,, and dinner 😋.
Highly recommended, if I'm here again, will definitely go...
Read moreBest option for Malatang in the city! I used to be a big fan of the previous place before they renovated to do malatang, and i have to say i am not disappointed by the new place! The style has changed completely and it looks very modern and nice inside. They have a wide range of choice of food and sauce for your malatang. You will find meat, veggies, tofu, gluten, sea food and sauce going from soupy to dry and not spicy to very spicy. The price is better than other malatang options in Barcelona and the staff is helpful and speaks both chinese and spanish. The only thing i miss from the previous place is the excellent chinese bbq! I strongly recommend trying...
