El Til•ler (Mundo casero) — Restaurant in Barcelona

My friend and I dined here on a trip to Barcelona. What an amazing find! We got a pitcher of Sangria which was made fresh before our eyes with freshly chopped fruit and was so delicious! I had the lentil salad and a gluten free spaghetti carbonara. My friend had the burger with a small Greek salad in place of the fries. The prices were super reasonable for portion size, location, and menu options. No gluten free deep fryer or bread options but I didn’t feel like I was missing out thanks to the excellent salad selection and gluten free noodles. Paella’s all gluten free also. I went in to order a pizza and there's pictures of everything except the pizzas. English is not spoken, but no points taken away for that (it is Spain.) After about 10 minutes of figuring out what pizza to get I told her to make it Extremely spicy. I said I eat spicy food every day. She said she doesn't have hot sauce, which is confusing because many of there items are Mexican style food. Anyways while I'm waiting she asks if I want to try Oxarta (Horchata). I said sure if its free. She brings the glass. It was good. Pizza comes and it was the worst pizza I ever had. Sorry. Bill comes she charges me for the Horchata which she said she wouldn't. I was impressed by the quality, quantity and level of service.

I usually don't trust places that have a lot of choices, usually it's an indication that probably the things aren't fresh or homemade, but this is a rare exception in Barcelona. I ordered a hamburger that could easily feed two people, the little details, like the beef being fresh to the point of crumbling or the mayo being homemade (btw, one of the best mayos I ever tried in Barcelona), reminded me a lot of quality and portions of my homecountry. All this for more than a fair price, the owners are very soulful and proud of their food. They have menus in English and Spanish.
