Review of "Les Pescadles" Fish Restaurant: An Awful Experience
I recently had the displeasure of dining at "Les Pescadles," a fish restaurant that turned out to be a complete disappointment. From the moment I walked in, it was clear that this place lacked any semblance of customer service or basic courtesy.
The waitress, whose rudeness was unparalleled, seemed completely disinterested in providing a pleasant dining experience. Her lack of patience and condescending attitude made me feel unwelcome from the start. It's unfortunate when the staff of a restaurant fails to understand the importance of treating customers with respect.
To make matters worse, the chef displayed an equal amount of rudeness. It was evident that he had little regard for the customers or their dining experience. The overall atmosphere was marred by this negative energy, which overshadowed any potential enjoyment of the meal.
Speaking of the meal, it was far from satisfying. Despite the exorbitant prices, the quality of the food was mediocre at best. The portions were minuscule, and the flavors were uninspiring. It was evident that little care had been taken in the preparation of the dishes. The lack of seasoning made everything taste bland and unappetizing.
What was particularly frustrating was the abundance of bones in the fish fillets. It is unacceptable for a fish restaurant to serve dishes that are riddled with bones. It not only poses a choking hazard but also shows a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. One should be able to enjoy their meal without worrying about hidden bones in every bite.
Furthermore, the prices at "Les Pescadles" were outrageously high for the subpar experience and quality of food provided. It felt like a complete rip-off, considering the unimpressive portions and lackluster taste. I left the restaurant feeling disappointed and taken advantage of.
Adding insult to injury, the waiter who served me had a noticeable odor, which made the dining experience even more unpleasant. It is unacceptable for a professional in the food service industry to neglect personal hygiene to the point of making customers uncomfortable.
In conclusion, my experience at "Les Pescadles" was nothing short of a disaster. The rude staff, from the waitress to the chef, created an unwelcoming and unpleasant atmosphere. The expensive prices, coupled with the mediocre meals and lack of seasoning, left much to be desired. The fish fillets full of bones only added to the frustration. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience, as "Les Pescadles" fell far short of even the most basic...
Read moreI had dinner at the Els Pescadors restaurant, Barcelona, in May 2023. The choice was explained by the fact that we found a recommendation in a Barcelona guide. I made the reservation on the restaurant's website the same morning, for 7:45 pm. When we arrived at the restaurant at 7:45 pm, it was still closed and the employees were setting up tables at the terrace. When I told them that I had a reservation they stated in a very unsympathetic, almost aggressive way that they had no reservation and that they did not know if there were tables available, but suggested that we waited in the square in front of the restaurant and they would try to find one free table. After about 15 minutes we were offered a table outside, which we accepted. Dinner consisted of a starter of clams shared between the two of us and sea bream roasted in the oven. The dose of clams had 9 average sized pieces and costed 36 Euro, that is, each clam costed 4 Euro! The sea bream was no better served, with a single serving costing around 50 Euros. We had a bottle of a white Penedes wine and 2 desserts. The quality of cooking was reasonable but not exceptional and in no way in relation to the final price, which was around 180 Euros for 2 people. Interestingly, between 8:00 and 10:30 pm the restaurant remained half-empty, with a lot of vacant tables, therefore the unfriendly behavior adopted by the employees in relation to the reservation does not make any sense. Strongly not...
Read moreThere were four of us girls visiting from Canada that wanted to go for a nice dinner and this place was recommended by our Spanish host.
From the initial greeting from Miguel whom I am assuming was the manager was bordering on outright rudeness. We tried to ignore him and we ordered our dinner. The steamed clams Cloissa Fina was so small that we were only able to have two clams each. Noone checked to see if we needed anything and then we received the main course a fish Orada which was superb and perfectly cooked. Throughout the time we dined the waiters were cordial and Miguel was rude and disrespectful. We had bread with our dinner and 2 bottles of medium quality wine and our bill came to 202.10 euros. After we were seated there was another Spanish couple that came in and we noticed that they were being treated really well and seemed to enjoy their meal. I am not sure if we offended him as we tried to speak Spanish since we have been taking lessons for the past year but it was not only a bad experience but a very expensive one. However, we highly recommend Cala Blanca as we had a marvellous lunch and received a warm welcome from all the staff and management. We had the menu of the day, snails and fish and is was excellent and very reasonable...
