To start things off i have to clarify that i AM italian.Me and family are staying over barcelona for 7 days and on our third day for lunch we decided to go here.Mainly because it was adviced by someone we know who is SPANISH.Now i know this is just an interpretation of italian food but at least know what you are doing! My mom ordered “piadinas” (i’m gonna put one as reference and they litteraly looked as a small burrito. They give her 6 of them and they only contained BESCIAMELLA yes besciamella who is used to make food Like lasagna etc… but in PIADINAS??(look the photo for reference).Mind you she is peruvian but currently live in italy so she knows how the real italian food taste like. She was so disgusted to say least that she gave the food to us ( me,my sisters..).My sister ordered spaghetti alla bolognese which was okay i guess.. and so was my older sister plate but the flavor instead of focusing on the base of plate(fish) instead focused on the sauce.I ordered pasta al forno which was okay to say least(didn’t like it THAT much).Although our appetite haven’t been satisfied that much the athmosfere was okay and so was the service. The staff was okay.I know many spanish people like this place not knowing what Real italian food taste like but since i’m italian i gave a real rating.Wouldnt advice this to italian people who are staying over barcelona(by what...
Read moreWe are currently on holidays in Barcelona and decided to have dinner at Gino’s. After we had ordered and got served our food, it was immediately noticeable that the plate ‘Lasagne Alla Bolognese’ and the plate ‘Lasagne Di Spinaci con formaggio di Capra’ were of an incredibly small size. Although the food tasted decent, it seemed as if we had just eaten an appetizer, while it is presented and priced as a main course.
Furthermore, when we wanted to pay the bill, something very strange occurred. While the bill stated a total due some of € 56,80,-, the restaurant worker had typed in manually in the PIN machine/card reader a due amount of more than € 63,-. Only after one of our table guests noticed this difference, the right amount (€ 56,80,-) was manually typed in again. This incident has damaged our trust, especially considering that the employee entered the wrong amount manually. We therefore do not plan to go to Gino’s again...
Read moreI work in the area, and went for lunch with colleagues. Unfortunately the service was entirely too slow, and our hour long lunch went for 2 in the end. We struggled to receive all our dishes together, had to get our mains as well as desserts to go. This is not the fault of the servers as they were obviously running around and too low on staff. Restaurant was a mess when we left, dishes every where. Management needs to step up and hire more people for the amount of traffic they have going through the building at lunch time. The menu del dia is also not cheap for the lack of consideration and value of the food. Will...
