La Taqueria — Restaurant in Barcelona

Myself and my wife came to Barcelona for our honeymoon, we'd pre-booked a number of highly recommended fine dining venues to attend during our time in the city but we arrived late on our first night and needed somewhere to eat, we stumbled across La Taqueria and thought the menu looked interesting. Needless to say all we thought about the rest of our time in Barcelona were those damn Tacos and that Guacamole.. definitely our favourite find in the time we spent here and we had some spectacular meals. Would heartily recommend to anyone, whether you're visiting Sagrada Familia and in need of a bite to eat, a lover of Mexican food or a newbie.

Some particular recommendations, the gringas, the guacamole, and the Taco Pirata. Wash it all down with their draft beer and you're in for a treat!

My friend brought me here because she said the tacos were delicious and the most authentic to what you would get in Mexico. There were multiple salsas, the chips were fresh and not something from a pre made bag, and the tacos were very good. We had the Menu Medio Día which includes an appetizer, main dish, desert and drinks. Between the guacamole and the frijoles refritos, the beans were so good (much better than a refried bean you might be thinking of). The Tacos cochinita pibil were really good, the tinga also good, but the cochinita I would get again for sure. We had the Aguas Frescas tamarindo and jamaica which for me the jamaica was not too sweet like I have had at other places. Menú mediodía mejicano 12,50 euro con poca comida, hay que buscarla en el plato. Se equivocan (un error humano lo tiene cualquiera)en traer los platos, pedimos nachos y frijoles y traen nachos y guacamole y al traer el 2o, se lo digo, me dice que ya lo han traído, corrige su error, hasta ahí bien... nos meten prisa por el cierre de las 15.30h... cuando traen la cuenta quieren cobrar el suplemento de la terraza +1,25, que no aparece especificado ennla carta de menú ni nos informan de ello, cuando vamos a la terraza porque veo el local lleno. Entonces me reprocha que había sitio dentro...y que yo he querido ir fuera porque el ambiente estaba muy agobiado de gente... claro yo quiero pasar frío en la calle porque me apetece... y que los frijoles me los ha traído para hacerme un favor... ¡pero si eres tú el que se ha confundido! Y me reprocha que porqué me he comida el guacamole! A lo que yo contesto... pero si me traes todo junto nachos y guacamole pienso es nachos con guacamole y al ser tan poco puea sinceramente pienso que viene junto... esperaba los frijoles después porque al traer los tacos, pienso y donde están los frijoles¿? Yo no te he exigido nada luego... que se agradece traerlo, pero recriminarlo luego no está bien... y para colmo no nos traen el postre incluído en el menú... solo la vuelta y a prisa para cobrar... me dice que en todos los restaurantes se cobran suplemento, le digo, no en todos, y para ello siempre se informa en la carta de menú.

Conclusión. Un sitio para no volver. Escasa comida en el plato, podria decirse que era comida delicatessen (por la cantidad,confusión (entendible) pero luego nos lo reprocha, y pretende cobrar un suplemento que no está especificado... y encima no nos sirvieron el postre. Nada recomendable. El brasero fue lo más cálido de la velada, casi me abraso la cara... poco...
