Tourists beware, this place will try to scam you!!!
We asked for water, given "bottled water" and charged 3 euros. The bottled water was not sealed and tasted like the gross tap water here (it has a distinct rotten eggs taste/smell). When I told the server I was not paying for it, they scrambled, said something to each other, claimed to us that they "misunderstood" us and took the water off the bill.
That's only the beginning of our awful experience here.
We came based on a recommendation of a good friend. The restaurant has gone downhill as of recently, clearly. We should've walked out when we were speaking with our waiter in Spanish and he only replied in English. That was our first red flag. We both speak Spanish quite well.
We ordered the paella deal, the seafood spaghetti and the potatoes bravas. The frozen and reheated potatoes were covered in spicy mayo. If you Google what potatoes bravas is supposed to look like, this is definitely not it.
The paella came out in ten minutes flat. That was the second red flag. Paella takes at least 20/30 minutes to cook. What was served to me was a pan of oily rice with very few pieces of seafood. Paella is supposed to have a crunchy rice that sticks to the pan. I know this because I've had "real" paella many times in NYC. I ate the rice because I was starving, but had the worst indigestion afterwards from all of the cheap oil in the dish. There was a pool of oil left on the pan after the meal. Gross.
My husband's seafood pasta was a mushy mess. Somehow, this place managed to overcook spaghetti as well? Not to mention, the seafood from both of our dishes was not fresh and tasted frozen.
Needless to say, we will not be returning and we will warn our friends not to go back either. We couldn't even finish our meal and had to find another tapas bar to eat dinner. Please do not be scammed by the tourist trap of...
Read moreWe saw many good reviews about this restaurant so we went on a weeknight. The staff was mostly friendly. The menu is decent, but the food is mediocre.
I read one review where the person liked the steak so much they ate it a few times. This prompted me to try the steak and I found it to just be ok and nothing more. The grilled potatoes that came with it were better. I tried to ask the staff how they prepare the steak and the language barrier made it really tough. I wanted to know if it was made over fire or on a flat top grill, etc.
The gazpacho was decent. Their wine list is horrible. There also only seemed to be one person who spoke English the night we went, which made it very tough to ask questions (wanted to know about preparation, seasonings, cooking method etc).
It’s an ok place, probably more suited for a basic palate or basic...
Read morePretty! Pretty!!Pretty!!! 😍 The place is a paradise for some mind blowing beverages & food! They have a wide range of cocktails and beer at a quite affordable price.
Good apart, what blew our mind was the ambience..beautiful in every way the place had a fairy tale vibe!!
The entrance is enticing and inc you get in, be ready to indulge in some aesthetically pleasurable ambience while relishing finger licking food & drinks.
Staff is warm & welcoming, he even recommended some good sides for our drinks. The bread was freshly baked, tomatoes perfectly ripe & flavourful and the condiments, olive oil combo on top just elevated the taste to the next level!!
A bit hard to find, this place is a hidden gem in the busy shopping g streets...
