Genuinely one of the most seamless and pleasant dining experiences I can remember! As you enter the restaurant, off the alleyway, you're met with a small space with a couple of tables, a bakery-style shop counter, and, at least when I visited, a helpful staff member who spoke perfect English and ran us through how the order process worked. A large board behind the counter indicated, in Catalán and English, what the menu options were with good clarity. The cashier helped us further at this point, explaining we could buy a meal deal including a main course, a glass of wine or bottle of beer, and a dessert for an extremely modest price. The beauty of this process, is that you can mix and match everything in the main course from the pasta/spaghetti shapes, to the sauce, the cream content, and the meat/veg additions. This enabled me to 'create' one of the best bacon linguine/creamy green pesto amalgamations I've eaten thus far! I think how much you enjoy the food here depends on the combinations you choose, but there are set items on offer as well. The separate parts of my pasta were all cooked well and pleasing, however, which makes me think any combination would be fantastic! The cool music, interesting interior decor and friendly staff, combined with the good, cheap food, made this one of my most memorable dining experiences...
Read moreAmazing fresh pasta 🍝 dishes at the best price you could get in Barcelona! Main dish (generous portion) + drink + dessert for less than 10€ 💶! You must try any of their lasagnas and their cheesecake, for me the best ones in Barcelona!
Actually, the first time a friend brought me here, he ordered a lasagna and I got in love 😍 with their pasta and decided I would try a different one each time I came back there. The second time I came with that same friend, I was surprised he got a lasagna (again), so I also got one to try it. Since then, I always doubt if I prefer to have lasagna again or something else instead...
Also, they recently added Sangría (big glass for 5€) and different cocktails 🍹 for around 7,5€ which are both amazingly good, even though the cocktails are not specially cheap and you have the Polaroid Bar on this same street. Maybe do the drinking there, or start early and do it in both!
It's usually easy to get a table for 2 without a wait, but for bigger groups I would advise to comer early.
They also used to do deliveries through Glovo, but I think they don't do that anymore, but you can order take away anyway and come to pick it up yourself!
Lastly, it's worth mentioning that all the staff are really nice and friendly and they would all give you really nice recommendations if you don't know...
Read moreThis was hands down the best spot for value, portions, and quality that I've had in Barcelona during my trip there. I found this place from the outstanding reviews on Yelp and I was definitely not disappointed. The spot itself is bigger then it seems, the restaurant goes pretty far back, and from what I saw, even some locals were eating there.
The pastas were definitely of top quality, and after trying a variety of sauces & pasta variations from my group, I'd highly recommend getting the beef empanada, the pesto sauce on your pasta, and the tiramisu. The pesto was creamy and light at the same time, in perfect balance. The empanada was perfectly baked & seasoned and the tiramisu was not overly sweet. For ~10 euros, you get a beer/water, pasta, an empanada, and a dessert. Quite an amazing value for Spain while giving a nice fat portion. This spot is a little harder to find, but with google maps, you gotta be a little "special" to not be able to find this.
For anyone traveling or local in the area, I highly recommend trying out this spot, and if i wasnt traveling and wanting to explore all the local restaurants, I would totally come back...
