The worst Michelin experience ever! Many of the dishes were far away from being able to be described as tasty. There was one course of caviar and rice with a bit wasabi on top, what a genius way to waste the caviar, I could not taste anything but salty. One course with truffle did not match with the other ingredients. In one of the courses there were raw slices of skin of green beans (isn't that poisonous???) The dessert looked the same as one bought from bakeries, which looked so plain and tasted so plain. The only dish that was good was the eel. As to the service, I could not undetstand the waiter's introduction correctly because he spoke with spanish accent and too fast (maybe because two waiters had to serve 5 tables at the same time, he had to be fast. On the contrary, the dishes came too slow, it took us 4 hours to finish all the courses)...having no children's chair was a big minus too, have they never received any family with babies? After dining I even had diarrhea (fish not fresh? Beans raw?...) what is the worst of all is that even though I had a little baby with me, they offered me many courses with raw meat and fish, which I did not know were raw beforehand, or I would never have tasted them. Therefore several of my dishes were left untouched. Althogh a bit worried if the raw food would affect my milk, i still gave my baby my milk there because it was hungry and began to be unsettled and the reastaurant did not even have one little bowl of plain cooked rice. My worries came true at last, 5 min after acoming out of the restaurant, my baby threw up everything in its stomach. It was all over its clothes and even the stroller... Can be the worst dinning...

Very disappointing meal. Came here with some expectations remembering my previous experience in 2022 and knowing restaurant went through some renovations and upgrades. However the food gone worse, most of the dishes were tasteless (blend) or otherwise very vinegary. Both of us left restaurant with full on vinegar taste in our mouths, very unpleasant. We had medium menu with 24 passes and only 3 dishes were somewhat tasty and enjoyable. Back in 2022 restaurant offered really tasty tuna and more of wagyu beef dishes, nowadays you only get one/two slice of good tuna and the rest is extremely dry and tasteless tuna. Don’t get me wrong but we are in Spain were tuna sold everywhere and cost is not expensive and we are in 1 Michelin star restaurant.. also Wagyu beef are now cut into only 1 dish (it was tasty) My “grilled” fish came totally raw inside, while my partners fish was properly cooked, when I pointed this problem to waitress she say fish supposed to be raw inside.. (it’s a grilled dish.. not sashimi) and she had no explanation why then my partners fish was fully cooked. As mentioned earlier most of dishes were either tasteless or way too vinegary. Desserts were very disappointing and not up to an overall Michelin star. I have no idea why this restaurant has a Michelin star because it’s very misleading.. yes the space is nice, yes open kitchen but we are here to eat good food and not to watch a cooking show. Very overrated Michelin star restaurant with a big question mark what is the star for.. Service on overall was good also give good suggestions on sake. But I won’t go back nor give personal...

Been many Michelin Japanese restaurants in different countries, this is the worst experience I never had. Just because the service wasn’t bad that’s why I gave 2 stars. Ordered ASTRO menu I was expecting try everything on Michelin standard unfortunately I would say very disappointed. The appetite was Crispy crackers with octopus not surprising me, the taste was normal. The mushroom scallops soup was tasty but it was only 1/4 scallops in the soup. The next course was Caviar with yellowtail, I was expecting chef or wait staff serving ginger for palatte cleanser, waited for while and I ordered for ginger. I was surprised not provided for ginger. The caviar with yellowtail was fresh but the sauce tasted weird, it tasted like plastic in my mouth I nearly threw it out. Rest of the dishes were salty, I don’t understand why so many dishes with salt, and the sauce was salty. I was looking for Wagyu but it wasn’t surprised me it was cooked and taste very normal can find it in any Japanese restaurant where they sell. Waited for the bills over 10 mins, cannot believe they charge for ginger. This is the only meal I had on that day and I got diarrhea. It definitely not worth for...

What a disappointment. The restaurant has two sections; an open kitchen area and a train coach area. Unfortunately, we were seated at the saddest corner of the coach area. When we asked if we could have another table in the central area, we were told that our table was very comfortable. I think we were at 3 rd table in the restaurant at the time. From that point on, it went from bad to worst. Where shall we start, from our waiter who does not understand Japanese food or culture to no direction in the food? Most surprisingly, how could it mess up green tea, two ingredients of tea and water? What I got was very, very hot light green water. We could not eat most of the food, and we were trying to be polite and very hard to eat bland dishes. But we were stop trying in the middle of our dinner. All items were served with a sauce which was more of a reduction and either overpowering or simply weird. The sushi rice was undercooked, and was it even Japanese rice? They were happy to clear our full plates of food without asking any questions. we paid our bill and left... Hungry, sad and bewildered; how can they get it so so wrong!!!

We went to Koy Shunka to celebrate my son’s bday . We had the menu degustation Gastro. Not long after that , my son started vomiting and having diarrhea . I brought him to the doctor and confirmed it was food poisoning from an oyster served during the degustation. I sent them an email about it and the best they can do is send a generic and copy pasted response with a statement “ We have no evidence at all to suggest that your illness was caused as a result of dinning at Koy Shunka.” For a restaurant that charges 167 euros per person ( and we were 3) who cannot spare a few minutes to look into our complaint and personalize their response , that says a lot about their work ethics and how they regard customer service and safety or the lack thereof . It is evident that All they were concerned about was to cover their backs. This restaurant is proof that you don’t always get what you pay for . Be warned . Go at your own risk . Definitely not worth it.

Worth every penny. What an experience! I've been here a couple of times and been to a few Michelin guides/stars restaurants in Barcelona. First time I was here 3 years ago. I wasn't very impressed. I came back this time with little expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the renovations. The restaurant became much more intimate and cosy. Compared to other bigger Michelin star places, it feels more personalised and welcoming. Lots of wood and stones. Very earthy. We opted for the Menu Koy for 178 per person including VAT. I was hungry when I arrived and wanted to get a bigger menu but I'm glad I didn't. Every single dish was full of flavour and top notch ingredients. Staff were well trained and lovely. The wine list is absolutely amazing. Wagyu beef to dessert. I walked out of her very happy and satisfied. I'll be coming back when they change the menu.
