There's no way I could not NOT rave about how amazing this restaurant is! 💖 After 7 months moving to Europe from Asia, I've not had any luck finding a Japanese restaurant that actually felt authentic! This place proved me wrong. I was absolutely floored with my dining experience here that i had to come back the 2nd time for dinner before we left Barcelona! 💖

The price is a bit on the steeper side but I assure you it was well worth it! The Maguro Tuna cuts they served was definitely quality and Im not lying when I say it melts in your mouth! 💖 Same with the salmon and the sushi platter 🍣 my favorite woukd have to be the Tuna tataki though! It was seasoned just right so the tasty cut of tuna still shines through. My daughter and I had the tasting menu at Kurai and it was one of the best Japanese meals I've ever had. The food was not overly fussy, as it can be with tasting menus. The starter was my favorite -- a scallop topped with a very thing slice of mango, a surprisingly large bite of foie gras and a brush of eel sauce I think it was. Indescribably delicious. My daughter's favorite was salmon tataki, with salmon so soft and smooth it was like butter. The price was affordable-- I misread the tasting menu price as 100€ per person but was actually 100€ for two and included wine so that was a happy surprise . This was an exceptional experience and we’ve eaten at A LOT of restaurants. We were in Barcelona for 4 days and we ate here 3 times. For perspective, we had other good meals but we never went back to any other restaurant.

So, why did we go back? JOSE

On first visit, we asked Jose to make our selections. He asked us a few questions to understand our preferences and the choices that he made and the experience that he created was amazing.

And, yes, Jose was our waiter for all three visits but they are a great team. On each visit he had help from everyone.
