Grupo Abrassame — Restaurant in Barcelona

I really wanted to like this place. I really tried. On my last night in Barcelona we came to this rooftop restaurant with high expectations due to a high Google rating. The server was nice- to me. My food was good- but just mine. My two companions had terrible service. I ordered a la carte and they ordered from the special offered from Sun-Thurs that offered two starters, one main, and one dessert for around $24 euros. My experience: I ordered wine and the server told me my wine was for dessert and brought out another at his own discretion. My food came out relatively soon, shortly after my companions starters came out. The problem started when there were ingredients in the food that were not included in the menu. Like ham and quail eggs in the Caesar salad which could only be described as a lettuce wrap with a block of shredded pickled chicken. My friend was not happy to find extra things that she didn’t want in a salad that was unrecognizable. I get its high end, but two small pieces of lettuce don’t suffice. Or the tempura eggplant starter that didn’t sit well with another companion. What made this experience terrible for them was an argumentative waiter who couldn’t understand their meal requirements and became defensive when they found fault with the food they ordered and had to pay for. And then their entrees took FOREVER to come out. It was super uncomfortable to have an experience where my friends were miserable and I was the only one to have a decent experience. Updated in response (see below): They cheated us. The server Zackary ordered €300 worth of food by overordering to 3 times expensive items than what we had ordered. It's a place that you have to avoid as they cheat tourists especially if you come in a group as it is difficult to know what people have ordered.

Totally avoid this place and if you do go, check everything they bring and ask for price. They cheat tourists ... Have certainly hurt my impression of Spanish restaurants and spoiled my day.

The server did not even come when we asked him to explain the bill. Someone came acting like they did not understand English and made us pay.

The food was good, but the aftertaste of being cheated spoiled it totally.

I would totally warn anyone one from going there.. Horrendous!!

Adding response to Abrasamme's response: Dear sir, Zachary lies. I asked for Sirloin. He said he's got the meat order. Never told us the price. If you want I'd get all my team to write seperate reviews stating this. (€85 vs. €25 = €50 * 3 = €150 of unannounced overorder on just meat)! Also, there were other orders of around €80-90 that we never ordered. plus charge for tomato bread, which is generally free in other restaurants, but if paid should have been told...

So you are lying and pl. have the decency to accept so!

Came for a final dinner for our last night in Barcelona. We happened to be in the area visiting Montjuic and decided to try this restaurant because it looked like it had a lot of good reviews recently. Unfortunately we didn't have the same experience. We ordered the seafood feast, and the most important part, the lobster, came out under-cooked and still raw. We showed it to a gentleman who looked like the owner after we already ate everything else (which thankfully was cooked properly and tasted great), and he simply took our plates and cleaned up. Our waitress never came to check on us the entire meal. We were done for about 15 minutes before the hostess finally said something to the owner. We asked the owner for the check after he cleaned everything, including the uncooked lobster, and he asked us if we wanted any after dinner drinks. No apologies for the uncooked food. We weren't exactly interested in ordering anything, since it would probably be a long time before it arrived. He brought the check, and when the waitress came to take payment, the machine wasn't working. She went to get another one, but immediately went to the other side of the restaurant and forgot all about us. Again, the owner had to intervene and have a separate waiter take our payment. We left still hungry and everything was already closed. A sad end to an otherwise great vacation. Definitely do...
