I went to L'Autentic on my first night in Barcelona and enjoyed both a delicious hummus and chicken dish with pine nuts and the warm hospitality of the waitress who helped me. She spoke very good English (in addition to Arabic and Spanish) and made me feel like family. What a gift to a tired traveler eating out by myself!
I returned to L'Autentic with my husband and friends a couple of weeks later. My original experience was not a mirage! We all LOVED our food. I had chicken with grilled eggplant, lots of perfectly carmelized onions, and pita bread with tomatoes. A simple yogurt sauce on the side was a perfect complement. My husband enjoyed chicken Tawuk with hummus, baba ganouj, and falafel. He asked for hot sauce and received two kinds, both delicious. One was decidedly muy caliente -- perfect for him, but not for the faint of heart.
As good as the food is the service at L'Autentic. We were well attended throughout the meal by a variety of friendly even joyous staff who clearly believe in the food they are serving and love people.
We will be back with other family and friends. L'Autentic is the perfect combination of really great food and terrific service to make your experience unforgettable.
I have attached a photo of my husband with the owner of L'Autentic, Señor Khashab. They had a wonderful time...
Read moreWe were so impressed by this Lebanese restaurant that we ended up dining there twice during our short trip to Barcelona! The food was absolutely fantastic, with each dish bursting with authentic flavors. Our server spoke English, Spanish, and French, making the ordering process incredibly easy and smooth. The owner was also present, ensuring that the quality remained top-notch throughout our meals. He even gifted us a Lebanese mint tea, what a kind gesture to end our honeymoon trip. The restaurant is located in a safe and convenient part of town, easily accessible from the bus stop. Outdoor seating was added an extra touch with the nice weather. We even saw waiter adding tables for guests, so if it looks busy always give it a try - they usually pull a table up for you! Plus, there are plenty of local gelato spots nearby for a delightful dessert afterward. Overall, it was such an amazing experience that we couldn't resist returning for a second meal....
Read morePretty surprised by the overwhelmingly positive and number of reviews for L'Autentic. While it's good, it was literally empty the entire time we dined here, and we were here during peak dinner hours. Not sure how a place with 4.7 Stars and 3.3K reviews is so empty! We came out of our hotel neighborhood to try this restaurant due to the reviews, but we probably could have stayed in our area instead.
The food is good, but not mindblowing. We ordered an entree each, and the portions were quite small. My kofta was not filling at all - just a small portion of rice and meat. They fill up the plate by adding sauce and plating it beautifully. The total price was €63 including the entrees and three drinks, which is not expensive but also not cheap. I was expecting it to be a bit cheaper, especially considering the portions.
Would recommend if you were in the area, but don't go out of your way like we did try...
