Los Platitos — Restaurant in Barcelona

Summary: Came here for dinner because it was close to our hostel. If anyone reading is from AUS, it felt like going out for a quality pub meal.

The place: Restaurant as a whole has a great look, feels very inviting. Upon entering we were greeted and showed to our seats immediately by welcoming staff. The staff member even got out her phone to show us the menu items on instagram which we thought was lovely.

The food: We both got the chicken milanesa cordillera, which came out quickly! My partner and I loved the meal, despite being relatively simple in design the flavour was great. Chicken was seasoned and toppings were great. Price was also not too bad for the size, I thought.

The drink: I thought my sangria was delightful too. Plenty of fruity flavour.

I have to be honest. I do a lot of reviews, and try to be kind, but factual. This restaurant was rated 4.6. We had another choice with a 4.8 rating, but wanted more casual. We were both disappointed. I had the simple veal with salad. It looked unappetizing, but tasted better than it looked. Being a good home cook, it was too thin to cook to a nice medium. My wife had a Margherita bread thing that was again uninspired. The sweet breads were the best of the food choices. The sangria was tasty. The waiter asked how things were, and I gave an honest answer of "so-so". The owner came out and asked what could've been better. I gave him the same comments.He was gracious, so that's a plus. Instead fact, I respect his staff repeating my comments and him coming out personally. Wish it had...

We came here for my friends birthday lunch. In the beginning service seemed good but as soon as we sat down, everything went downhill.

My friend was waiting for her beer for 20 minutes, our waiter forgot to open our water bottles and we were waiting our food which was salads and tapas for over 40 minutes. Restaurant said that the kitchen is small and there was a big group of people before us which I completely understand, however we came and ordered before the big group so this is not an excuse.

There was other issues as well such as missing ingredients, wrongly advertised drinks etc....

We complimented to the waiter and then the manager came to us giving invalid excuses.
