OGGI Gelato Barcelona — Restaurant in Barcelona

Taste is something personal. I could never tell anybody: "this place is good", I could only share my feeling, my opinion about it. I can give details of what I liked about a specific place and what I didn't but that's MY truth for that moment. 😇 I know not everybody is like this. I have a friend who, a very long time ago, recommended to me "the 2 best gelato spots" in BCN. 🤔 I tried the first one and I liked it... or at least I like their gelato. And I tried the second one but I couldn't remember it, and that's never a good sign... 😓 although my bad memory is the reason for this page! 😅 This second place is Oggi Gelato, located in Ciutat Vella. I tried many times to go back to that place in the last years but, every time I tried, I found the place closed, even though Maps told me it should be open. 😤 But the other day, at last, after a disastrous experience at a restaurant that we left before dessert, we could try their gelato again. 🥳 And this i when I understood why I did not remember anything about the place. The texture was good, the quantities were good, the sweetness of the cream was ok but the flavor was dull... even the the waffle was tasteless. I mean, I didn't have a bad time eating this, but I think I would have enjoyed an industrial cream as much. And I'm sure I would have paid less, cause €5 for a medium-sized cone (with a limitation of 2 flavors) is expensive in BCN and for that quality (in terms of flavor, I mean). 👎 Now I know and I won't forget this time (I hope! 😅).

If I could give zero stars I would. The gelato was great but the service was terrible. The girl with the nose piercing and tattoos was so rude and didn’t even help us at first. Just chatted with her coworker and ignored the customers in front of her. Then she profiled my husband as Muslim even though we aren’t and tried to tell him the Tiramisu has alcohol. We aren’t Muslim, he knew what he was ordering and what was in it. We can have alcohol and this ladies treatment to us was unacceptable. She gave both of us so much attitude for no reason and rolled her eyes at us repeatedly. Such a terrible attitude she should be fired. On top of that, the girl who rang me up tried to purposely short change me as a tourist. I had to remind her I gave her a $20 and some change and was still owed $10. The service here is terrible. RUN TO A DIFFERENT GELATO PLACE. They profile here and we will never be back. You can tell the people who work here don’t care about the customers at all. Not worth...

I don't understand the good reviews.. It started with the preparation, one waiter kept wiping her runny nose with her hand and then used the same hands to hold the strawberries to prepare the dessert, another cut the fruit with her bare hands. The third snacked from the strawberries that were sliced ​​for my dessert. That was super unprofessional and unhygienic. I was also there with my friend who got his dessert a lot earlier so he had finished eating by the time my waffles were finally ready. The waffle was badly burned and therefore hard and dry. Worst waffles I've ever had. There was nothing going on, which is why I can't explain the burnt waffles, just outrageous (They probably forgot it because they were chatting with each other). I hope the whole thing was an exception and that this behavior does not happen regularly. Well today I have a cold that I must have caught...
