The physical place isn't bad and there is this weird seating where you are lower than the middle surface of the dining room, almost like a ramp. I imagine it would be bad if you had bad knees or something, but it was ok.
Here's the biggest problem, the meat is completely unseasoned. While they will give you the BBQ portion, it is up to you to make it Korean BBQ. They give you the sauces, but this is not correct. Korean meat needs to be marinated and then grilled. It's absolutely unbelievable that they would serve meat in this fashion at a Korean restaurant.
The Korean dishes such as Bimbimbap, Tooboo-Jigae were fine and properly seasoned, the only problem was with the grilled meat.
The restaurant worked on an all-you-can-eat sushi place style, with you ordering off a menu (off your phone). Btw, they require each person order a drink, that's really odd from my American point of view.
Most things are minor complaints, but the do-it-yourself seasonings is unacceptable. It's not my job to make the food Korean, it's the staff's job. The staff was not Korean, also. That's not a deal breaker, but it certainly showed as all dishes were written in Spanish (ok) and Chinese (can't read).
I've eaten Korean BBQ is South Korea, the US and Saudi (it sucked), so I don't know the Spanish version of Korean BBQ, but this is much worse than South...
Read moreNo staff of this restaurant speaks Korean language. No English spoken either. They are probably from China. But things go even further - they have no menu in Korean language. No English menu either. Based on this I can predict no Korean customers visit this restaurant - because Koreans would need menu in Korean or at least in English. Did not try it further, but for me this is not a Korean restaurant.
Edit after the reply of the owner: No, I am not discriminating by expecting a Korean restaurant to have at least some staff speaking Korean language and having at least a menu in Korean language, not in Chinese. I think the owners should be ashamed of even discussing it. Korea has distinct culture and language, if you don't know it, make some effort of politeness, use at least Google translate.
At least I could find a real Korean restaurant several hundred meters in direction North, full of Korean customers and with Korean owner speaking to me in Korean language. And surely he had also non-Korean staff, probably Spanish or Catalan, speaking in...
Read moreI read the comments before coming here and I was so excited… those who say “authentic Korean food” must not have had great experiences. They put this paper on top of the bbq to avoid the food getting stuck and make them easier to clean but most of the oil drops under it so there is no oil. The paper burns and the food tastes burnt, but not that nice grill burnt, the meat actually boils a bit inside because it’s not in contact with the iron so it’s definitely tougher than it should, they only gave us one sauce and it wasn’t great so the meat was also lacking flavour. As soon as I raised the grill temperature just slightly to just be able to grill them properly, the staff would come and lower it. The meat quality was not great, the bangchan was mid, and the kimchi wasn’t great. I’m giving a two because the japchae and the porkbelly with kimchi was nice. But as a BBQ experience I would not recommend at all, I’ve had...
