Oishii ramen | Urquinaona — Restaurant in Barcelona

We booked a reservation for 4 people through their own website by putting in our first and last name, we received a e-mail confirmation and a msg confirmation. Once we got there we told her (I guess she was the owner/ manager) what we thought was the reservation name, we showed her both the e-mail and msg but she couldn’t find it (mind you there was literally only one table occupied and she only had 3 reservations) After she came back she started screaming that she asked us for the first name and not surname (we are not native Spanish speaker and thought the reservation was booked with the last name) and started making a huge deal out of it like we were stupid for not understanding her perfectly so we just walked out. I have no idea what’s going on in her life but being that rude to clients just for a small miss communications seems unacceptable, she was so petty that after we left she cancelled our reservation (I guess she found it after all hahahahah) The only thing I feel bad for is the waiter, during this encounter he was extremely nice and told us that even if we didn’t have the reservation there was plenty of space to eat but I guess pointing out rudely how we didn’t understand perfectly a foreign language was...

The restaurant is well decorated, it gives you a vibe as if you’re in japan! Amazing side walls, it was an awesome and new experience for me

The service was good, despite the fact it was busy i didn’t had to wait very long. And the food was fast as well

The prices where a but expensive compared to normal dishes and especially the drinks which costs €2+ but might be the case because of the location, the food was edible!

Drinks less options/limited. (Their “Ramune” is one of the most sold drinks in their.)

I bought the:” 121 set chicken fried rice” I didnt really like the sauce it tasted quite strong. I had better sauce in an other restaurant in barcelona. The salad was something i had to force myself eating, but it did not tasted fresh in anyway. Same goes for the “miso soup” which was actually horrible. It tasted really bad, i had regrets after ordering these things.

The ramen was fine, delicious enough, I might have high standards being from Canada where there are many ramen places, but it was a perfectly good meal. The food on the other tables looked good as well.

The service was however, terrible. After being seated, I waited 15 minutes without being attended. They were not super busy, the young staff just seemed uninterested in doing work, opting to pick up empty plates and pretending to rearrange tables instead of taking my order. Eventually I got the attention of a cook getting supplies from the back and he got a waiter to take my order. After the meal, I asked for the bill and waited another ten minutes before giving up on the waiter returning and just got up to pay at the front.
