I found this restaurant by simply choosing the nearest restaurant with the best review on google maps and the good reviews are well deserved. The place was full of Spanish people and had a lovely atmosphere. It is quite small but decorated with Gaudi-esque mosaics and original touches such as lampshades fashioned from cutlery giving it a quirky feel. The food is very original but varied enough so that everyone should find something they like the sound of. There was a set menu for under 15 Eur which included three courses and a glass of wine as well as á la carte options. I had eggs with courgettes and ham to start which was lovely followed by pork medallions with Apple purée and potatoes and finished with a white chocolate mousse (set menu). The kids had egg, bacon and potatoes with truffle oil and the chicken dish which came with potatoes and a kind of pepper sauce on the side. My wife had a goat's cheese salad to start and a rich chocolate cake for dessert. We all loved the food and there was virtually no wait before it was on the table. Waiters and management were friendly and attentive and spoke English for those whose Spanish is as bad as mine. Cannot fault this place; even the toilets were lovely! Definitely...
Read morePrices have increased from what other reviewers mentioned here. Visited on June 9th 2019, main course now €12.8 ; pasta €8 ; casserole €9.5 ; salad €8 ; water per bottle €2 ; bread charged per person €.7 even though we didn't order it, small pieces and no refill, and charged the kids too!! Dishes are way smaller than pictures here. Maybe we went on busy day?!
My opinions: not worth it.. pasta, salad and casserole are very small portions! And Not good! The casserole was recommended by the waiter/manager- you will get one tiny slice of fish/meat, egg Benedict and slices of potatoes, that's all. Pasta? Just 4 bites size - by my daughter..
If you still want to try here, just order straight for the main course. Price for value is better. Admittedly, They are in a good location, when you have a party of five with kids and after a long visit at the Picasso Museum just steps away, the kids will be hungry and there aren't many choices for family with kids.
I am not happy they charged bread per person without telling beforehand. And there isn't special price 3-course meal as mentioned here...
Read moreYou find this gem in a narrow side street right next to Basilica de Santa Maria Del Mar and when you walk inside it feels a bit like you’ve traveled back in time. The cozy interior with its colorful chairs and artsy window decor together with the random paintings on the wall and the open kitchen in the back give the restaurant a unique and authentic vibe. The menu is written on empty wine bottles and you can go for the lunch menu incl 3 dishes and a drink for 16,50 or a la carte. We shared a bottle of El perro Verde (following the recommendation of our waiter). The wine was great! Dry but fresh and very mild. Easy to drink without being acidy. I picked the leek soup as a starter and the fish from the market from the lunch menu. Both dishes prepared with excellence. Other dishes we tried and were enthusiastic about were the avocado salad, the turkey breast, the octopus and the cannelloni. Also the espresso was top quality! Overall this has been one of the better restaurant experiences I had all year and for the price we paid it was...
