Six Oyster Bar – Where Oysters Get Fancy 🦪🍷 If you love oysters, then Six Oyster Bar is a must visit in Barcelona (especially when you are so close to the beach!). They take these little gems of the sea and elevate them with creative flavors—some that work perfectly, and others that are definitely for the bold eaters out there.
Let us start with the oysters with pomegranate—a brilliant combo. The sea squirt and burst of sweetness from the fruit balanced the briny freshness of the oyster ;) Making even Poseidon be proud :D my fav dish
Now, the Japanese Beauty oyster? This one is for those who really love salt. Between the oyster itself and the soy sauce, it is a double hit of saltiness—flavorful, high-quality, and delicious, but not for the faint of heart. If you enjoy a good umami overload, go for it. If you are a bit more sensitive to salty flavors, this one might be an acquired taste.
And let us not forget the soup—simple, flavorful, and a perfect warm-up before diving into more oysters. Not the main event, but definitely a solid supporting act.
The vibe? Stylish yet relaxed, perfect for an oyster and wine kind of evening. Would I come back? I will cross the ocean/sea and ride on a whale — this place delivers high-quality seafood with creative twists, and I am all for it.
Pro tip: If you are new to oysters, start with the pomegranate one. And if you are feeling adventurous, go for the Japanese Beauty and see where it...
Read moreI went there for a dinner, with a high expectation because of the great reviews. However, I was quite disappointed after the meal. We ordered six oysters, two large, two median, and two small. The oysters were not properly opened as they were broken into small pieces. The two large and median were very much the same size. They were just ok, not great. The sea food s soup was a little bit too salty. The tuna tartar was ok, again, not great. The sauce covered the taste of tuna. I think they should just use olive old, salt and pepper. The tuna tataki was on, but I would prefer serving with green salad, instead of cucumber and hummus. The baked cod was too salty. It was served with cherry tomatoes. The only thing that I like was raw scallop with hot chili was the only thing I really liked, but it was too small.
Overall, I expected higher from an oyster speciality restaurant. Both the oysters and the baked cod were a disappointment.
I think the restaurant was over-rated...
Read moreThis place has a huge selection of seafood on the menu and since oysters are their specialty, we started with those, ordered Mamacita oysters with Italiano Vero, Japanese Beauty and Bloody Mary sauces — all were good. For mains, we had the seafood paella with scampi, squid, prawns and mussels and Boatswain on vacation that is chicken cutlet with mashed potatoes, both dishes were delicious. We also tried hummus & tzatziki, seafood soup, really good flavorful, and Tataki in bed with eggplants. The tuna itself in the last dish was great, but the large amount of kinza and mint covered the flavor of the tuna and eggplant. For dessert, we had the chocolate fondant, it was really good. For drinks, we tried a few cocktails — Mojito and Basil Beauty were really good, but Pina Colada was too watered down. Overall, the place is great, nice service, good atmosphere, tasty food. We had a great time and would definitely...
