TLDR: Good place but careful about service, and if a behavior stinks, call the owner.
Food is decent, and would probably deserve at least 4 stars. The location is good, next to the Fira. However, we had some issues with the service. We were a group of about 20 people, making a work dinner after a long and tiring day of work. The waiter was very social, which is fine, but he treated people differently. We all ordered the same menu which included drinks. Some of us received a bootle of wine all for themselves, some of us had to share it. Some of us received 1l of beer, some only a 350cl glass. Some of us received a pitcher of sangria to be shared among 2, mostly watery and with much ice, some received a personal one full of fruits and less ice. This was still ok, but the waiter kept asking and throwing hints about a tip for him, and he kept making it feel like a special treatment to some, when it was due.
At the end of the dinner, I got asked directly by him to pay 20€ for a pitcher of Sangria that I accidentally broke, and he quickly replaced without even asking (so I expected it to be free). I had to pay by card but he insisted to be paid cash, with random excuses. I couldn't pay cash so I ignored him and went down to the cashier. He rushed ahead of me, took the card machine and had me pay 20€. Meanwhile, he clearly tiped some fake order in his order device. I went out. Then I realized I hadn't received a receipt, so I went back and talked with the owner. There has been a very weird conversation where the owner thought I paid 20€ for desserts, when I actually paid it for a Sangria (nobody at the table ordered desserts). He called the waiter which built excuses, then he made a receipt for 14€ for the Sangria and reimbursed me.
Overall, the owner avoided me getting screwed by his waiter. I hope he'll choose better his employees in the future. Sadly, despite going to Barcelona every year since 5 years in this place, I won't be able to verify the change because I'll never go there again nor recommend...
Read moreThe overall experience was horrendous! It was clearly apparent that the waiter favoured local spanish customers over British tourists ie myself and my wife on a weekend break from the UK! This was made quite clear in small but very obvious ways such as other locals being given nuts & olives as is customary in Spain but yet we did not! We then ordered food which was fine & then ordered two glasses of red wine which I never received by the time I requested the bill. Only when I queried why we had been charged for wine we had never received did the waiter realise he had never brought them to us. I had no issue at all with this as I can fully understand that it was busy and mistakes can be made but when I simply suggested that I didn't want the wine now and instead I would rather have the cost taken off my bill he refused and said "it would be quite difficult to take it off" when I know it really wouldn't be however he obviously didn't want to go and face his manager/boss to have to explain he had made a mistake! Instead he insisted that he will bring us out wines to which my wife agreed to save causing a scene, however on with the promise that they would be "good" measures to make up for his mistake! When they came they were clearly normal measures. Then to add insult to injury the same waiter brought the couple behind us their bill with complimentary shots. However when we finalised our bill we received nothing even after his poor service plus a 10% service charge for eating outside. My wife and I are not serial complainers but the overall experience has left me feeling very annoyed and has certainly tainted my impression of this restaurant if not Barcelona as I certainly won't be returning to visit. I certainly would not recommend this restaurant to my fellow Brits or...
Read moreWe did not expect this place to be any good. Surprisingly the food we ordered were all delicious. We had egg and ham sandwich, burger, carbonara and a couple of cappuccino. Unfortunately I don’t have any photos to show as I did not plan to review this restaurant. With the wonderful experience, I think this restaurant deserves a 5star. We initially decided to dine in when we realised that we were going to miss our train to Montserrat. With short notice, we asked for our food to be taken away. The gentleman who served us was kind enough to accommodate our request and had our order bump over the queue. We were very delighted for the consideration. We had the cappuccino at the restaurant and ate our meals in the train. The cappuccino was so good. Their barista made our coffee to perfection. Coffee weren’t burnt and the proportion of milk was just right. When we got settled in the train after a mad rush to get into the train, we then had our meals. To our surprise everything was so good. The ham and cheese was perfect. The burger tasted so good. The carbonara was just simply divine. The fries were a little soggy but it wasn’t the restaurant’s fault. That’s what happens when fries are in a closed container. One thing I appreciate also is they made...
