Vegan Cat Bar — Restaurant in Barcelona

After reading comments on this page, we tried to go many times to this place but the first 3 times it was closed. Finally today we could enter Cat Bar and we have been welcomed in a very weird way. Not even Hello, Hola or anything, just a sign from the head which looked like "what do you want" ?

We sat on a table and started to choose some food in their menu... We chooses 2 Combos of burger + patatas with garlic sauce (9 euros per person) + beer and water 7 euros.

I went to order at the bar because this is the way it works there, a woman looked at me like i was disturbing her, tried to speak in english with a weird accent so i couldn't understand a word. I made her repeat several times and it seems it was annoying her so much according to the face she gave me.

The burgers arrived with the patatas ( 8 pieces maximum) with a spicy bravas sauce on the top while we asked for garlic sauce. We told the waitress about it and she said, but you said you didn't want any garlic sauce... I showed her the receipt where it written we want garlic sauce and she gave us that face again, didn't apologies and throw on our table a bit of garlic sauce in a recipient... Yes, ok... but the spicy sauce is all over our patatas and we didn't want that....

My friend went to the toilets 2 minutes and during this moment, the waitress came to my table without saying a word and removed the plates without even asking if we finished. My friend still had some food he expected to eat...

We left the place, no goodbye, no thank you (Not surprised when they are not able to say hello when you enter...) First time and last time there.

Even worse than my experience, the owner of this restaurant replied to the comment I left on his fb page and tells me I am a liar, that was a I wrote is not true... What a lack of professionalism! Not even able to recognize their mistakes. They prefer to insult their unhappy customers instead of shutting up and do their best for...

It's called Cat Bar and there is definitely quite a bit of cat paraphernalia but it is very important to say that, despite this, it is very dog friendly :-) You can sit anywhere with your dogs, either at the bar for a drink or at the tables to eat. The beer selection is amazing (I think 8 in total, including IPA, Stout, etc - all the usual craft ale options, and a variety of strengths up to 8%!) They also do Tofish and Chips, so this is a dream come true for any beer loving vegan from the UK. It is super tasty, crispy crumb batter, tofu marinated in something fishy, great chips. There are also about 4 different vegan burgers on offer, didn't try them even though we visited twice, as had to go for the tofu both times. Burgers are bean and veggie based rather than of the fake protein type. Staff super friendly. Please open a second...

Had such a wonderful night here on a solo trip to Barcelona. Everything about the place was right up my street. The food was delicious, arrived quickly and was 100% vegan. Even though I was on my own, I felt very at home here. I was only going to have one beer but once I'd tasted it I knew I had to stay for a few more. So nice to find somewhere that did proper ale - all locally brewed. Finally plucked up the courage to ask if I could play the piano and was made to feel very welcome. Staff sat around and listened to me play as it was quite a quiet night, and that just made it feel so much more special. Sadly, they had sold out of t-shirts in my size but im still determined to get one somehow. I've framed their postcard to remind me of such a lovely evening. Huge thank you for your hospitality. Will definitely be back one day. Keep up...
