I had lunch here with a friend on a Thursday afternoon. While the menu looked quite interesting, the food quality was a let down & the service was awful. There were initially no seating available inside but after 5 min of sitting inside, a table became available outside. The server was very reluctant to let us change tables, despite the fact that the outside table wasn’t reserved, there was no one waiting to be seated, and we hadn’t even been brought table settings! The first server got our order wrong, despite writing it down & checking it with us. We were brought one ice tea (don’t try it!!) instead of two and one soup instead of two. When we pointed this out to the them, the server said “but only have one soup”, as though they needed to go buy the ingredients and start cooking the soup from scratch rather than just ladling more soup into another bowl! We have nachos with guacamole. While the nachos were nice, the guacamole had too much onions and too little salt. The mushroom and potato soup had cauliflower in it, which wasn’t actually listed in the ingredients list. We ordered a four cheese pizza and a pear & nuts one. The cheese was almost tasteless and we had raisins in our pizza instead of pears. It was quite a let down. We sat outside. The servers didn’t come to check on us and we had to either go in to get them or try to catch their attention inside waving frantically. There were also beggars coming to ask for food and money while we were eating and the servers did not come to get them to move away. This is all despite a 10% mark up for sitting outside. Horrible experience! We made a reservation for 4 people for 4pm Friday 6 September. We arrived 10 minutes early and the greeting was unusual, we let him know we had a reservation and was pointed towards a table for 2 (we were waiting for the other 2). When we pointed out the reservation was for 4, he curtly responded “ you said 2” which we hadn’t. We asked for a larger table and we were pointed towards an area, all of the tables were unclean with food scattered on the floor. We returned to the entrance and were ignored for a few minutes, with a strange atmosphere. The other waiter then asked if we would like a table at the other side, but we shared again that there would be 4 of us and our friends would have a baby, so to avoid blocking the access, we would be better in the area where the tables remained dirty. We were told to sit at a table close to the door. We were then approached by the other waiter who aggressively told us we were to sit at the other side of the restaurant. I told him firstly, that his colleague insisted we sat at the current table and all of the tables in the area were still dirty. At this stage, we decided to leave, both waiters ignored us and the tension was incredible! The waiter was rude, unpleasant and a poor representation for what should have been a good experience. Barcelona is killing it with its selections of vegetarian restaurants and restaurants with well thought out, sizable and very tasty menus. Obviously having a major knack for seasoning combinations, healthy options, whether in a standard restaurant or at a vegetarian establishment, vegan and vegetarian options are not a mere tasteless afterthought or a trying too hard over the top menu with strange flavor profiles (like you to often find here in the US). In short, they know what to do with food all while keeping it healthy. This place was no exception! I only give it 4 stars for customer service. It’s like they seat and forget about you until you remind them you are sitting there, and they weren’t even busy! But on to the food.

My nachos were quite tasty and satiating. I had the rest of my friend’s pizza for dinner - there was no evidence that this was a veggie pizza with vegan cheese! It was absolutely delicious. They also have pumpkin nuggets which put me in mind of a good fried corn nugget but denser. My other friend had the carrot soup which she also enjoyed (I did not try that one).
