Iriarte Iriarte — Local services in Barcelona

This review is about a year late, but I wanted to be sure to leave one for this lovely handbag shop. My husband and I were visiting Barcelona last summer and walked to this shop after seeing its positive reviews. Unfortunately, when we arrived the shop was closed. However, after waiting outside the doors for a few minutes, the owner (and founder!) came running over to the door to let us in after apologizing that she had to step out to run an errand and was covering the store for her assistant who was out ill. Things happen for a reason, but the experience in this store was even more special with the founder assisting us with selecting a bag. She was so welcoming, patient and kind as I tried on a few different bags when trying to decide on one. She even shared a little about the start of the company and the process of how the bags are created, which was super interesting. Was excited to check out her shop (finally) and I purchased a bookbag and small coin purse. Each bag design is unique and the color choices are beautiful. The sales associate was very helpful reviewing the different options. I came back a few days later with friends and met the designer who is just so sweet. Will return next year! Made a special trip to check out this store, but was a bit disappointed with the consistency of the quality of the bags in person. Many of them had small scuffs, scratches, or hardware issues - while leather is meant to age with time, the bag should look its best when you purchase it. The price of the bags is high and hardware quality didn't match the price. Would definitely recommend checking them out in person and not...
