Very stressful environment, although a beautiful looking café.

I ordered a latte with oat-milk. After waiting for 15-20minutes, I kept nervously looking at the bar to figure out if they might have forgotten my order...they indeed did.

No worries, this happens, I thought.

I saw the barista prepare a latte with soy-milk (soy is something I am very allergic of- it induced asthma in me). My latte was brought shortly after and unfortunately did not taste like oat milk, but was soy milk. Luckily I had only taken one sip, and brought the coffee to the bar to double check for my own safety. And maybe ask for a replacement. On the bar, I was met by the two, very stressed owners, who did not provide a nice customer service, nor a reassuring experience, that this, in fact is not soy milk. What I was hearing was not very assuring things: “you ordered oat, this IS oat”, and “we use 2 different recipients to heat soy and oat, this can’t be soy...”

Well, this is my safety, and I put it first. So after not feeling helped by neither of the owners, I felt forced to leave. Neither of them seemed helpful.

As coffee shop owners or actually as any owners from all sorts of things, it is a given fact that mistakes can be made, if you’re standing under stress. Dear Masala Café, neither of you admitted that this was a possibility, that you, in fact, could have made a mistake, that for me, would have meant an asthma attack and an adrenaline shot into my leg.

The least you could have done, was to not make me pay for this coffee...

This was one of the worst coffee...

Stepping into Vera Cafe, you instantly feel like you've stumbled upon a secret garden of good vibes and deliciousness! Forget your Wi-Fi worries and laptop obsessions, because this charming spot is all about soaking in the moment, one perfect coffee (yes, coffee!) at a time. Their "First say hello, NO WI-FI, NO LAPTOP, YES COFFEE" sign sets the tone perfectly – it's a delightful invitation to disconnect and genuinely connect. And boy, is it worth it! From the vibrant fruit bowls overflowing with fresh goodness and crunchy granola, to the perfectly ripe avocado toast sprinkled with seeds (a true work of art!), every bite is a little burst of happiness. And don't even get me started on their fresh juices – pure liquid sunshine in a glass! The cozy atmosphere with its warm orange walls and charming decor makes you want to linger all day. Whether you're enjoying some classic peanut butter toast with jam or just chilling with a friend, Vera Cafe is a little slice of Barcelona magic. It's the kind of place that makes your heart smile and your taste buds sing. Definitely say hello to Vera Cafe – you...

Let me start by saying that this has always been my favorite café in Barcelona. Today, I stopped by between meetings to grab breakfast, and when I tried to open my laptop to finish some stuff, I was told it's prohibited because it’s an "art space." It's not an art space—it’s a café. Stop creating stories for places that don’t need them. It’s a lovely café, but it’s still a café. I understand the intention, you want people to engage with each other and avoid turning the space into a co-working spot, but I explained it would only take five minutes, and the answer was still no. I was there alone, so it’s fine to be on my phone, but not on my laptop? That makes no sense. I’ve been to cafés all over the world and have never seen rules this strict. You’re located in the most international area of Barcelona, and sometimes people need to quickly answer some emails since they travel. Please stop the nonsense. I’m really disappointed, and I’m not sure if I’ll be...

As we were on our way to a different coffee shop we stumbled upon this place and do glad we decided to stop here. It was 20 minutes before closing but they welcomed us in anyway. I had the best latte I had while in Barcelona and probably one of the best I’ve had ever! Creamy and beautifully presented. The woman who took our order was so friendly. There is a lit up “No WiFi” sign, so this is truly an old school coffee shop where you come to enjoy your coffee with a friend and chat for a little bit or take some time with yourself away from electronics. I wish I hadn’t found this on my last day otherwise I would’ve come every day I was here!

Vera Café is one of those spots that quietly gets everything right. We ordered two flat whites (beautifully done by Tania), the yogurt granola, and the hummus tostada. The coffee was balanced and smooth, with just the right roast depth to bring out the creamy texture—exactly what I want in a flat white. The granola came with fresh strawberries, banana, and kiwi, layered beautifully over creamy yogurt with light, crisp granola for texture. The hummus tostada was topped with juicy tomato and a drizzle of oil and herbs, simple but full of flavor. Cozy vibe, lovely staff, and a calm energy that makes you want to linger.
