Xorús — Restaurant in Barcelona

SuperB food!!! I just went for 4 days to Barcelona and 2 of those days I ate in this place. All you can ask here is going to be delicious. I say that with blind eyes. And the attention from the owners are awesome. The prices are just fair, too good. What I love was the person who served us, explain how they do the dishes and not only that they advice you what yo eat with honest opinion (and with enough confidence to let you order whatever you want and tell you that is going to be delicious... and it's was). If I come back to Barcelona, for sure I will come back to this restaurant... I think they make us hard to explore other restaurants. Real Catalunya food. This time we had a little of Caldo Gallego (they gave us just a little to tried it because was sold out) CRoquetas of spinach with Bechamel sauce and Rice Montañesa. We bought a Groupon dinner and that might explain some of it. Upon arrival, our table was not ready, so we were kindly offered a beer and a glass of wine while we waited at the bar- only to be told later that they counted as the drinks in the Groupon combo, so we had to order drinks again to eat our dinner with. The recommended wine (paid for separately) didn't hit the mark, but that can be considered a matter of taste. Appetizers were okay. The tomahawk steak we had purchased was served without the bone (which makes it a tomahawk), and the steak itself, while very generous, was very tough to chew. The cheesecake was good (paid for separately). We were also charged for the customary free liquor shot at the end (chupito). This was the best food I've had in Barcelona and I have visited a couple times. I visited on the day I left and I really regret missing out on some more opportunities to dine there. It's a lovely local place that isn't very big but it was warm and bustling. It was filled with the locals who were seemed to be enjoying the food very much. We started off with some lovely Sangria, and it was lovely. We also had some padron peppers which were delicious, along with the baby calamari which were fabulous. The best we had. And, we had plenty over the weekend. Finally we had the seafood paella which, surprise surprise was incredible. The flavours was to die for. I recommend everybody give that a try. It is worth it. This restaurant was one of the best experiences I've had. The food was amazing. Well...
