Let me start by saying in general the food was excellent. However I dropped to 3 stars based on the following. This is a restaurant which mainly attracts visitors from local All Inclusive Hotels such as those owned by Magic Costa Blanca and there are two menus, one for those with All Inclusive and one for passing trade. When we were there we didn't see any customers who weren't ordering from the limited All Inclusive menu. The limited All Inclusive Menu has very few options, there was no Vegetarian option and the staff couldn't/wouldn't come up with something vegetarian unless paid for. The next disappointment was that literally everyone there, including ourselves, didn't make it through the 3 courses. The starter which includes a huge bowl of Nachos and then either spaghetti or a few other options completely fill you up. The staff know this so don't rush with your mains. We waited over an hour for mains, and many others at other tables walked away. Those of us to ate meat enjoyed the fish and chips and chicken and quinoa. My wife who is vegetarian had nothing, luckily filled up on starters. The wait for pudding was again deliberately extended and like other we walked away before pudding arrived as we'd now been there about 2 hours. In terms of drinks you are given a sangria on arrival and then one drink of your choice.
There's definitely a motive to delay lunch and pudding. I'm not sure if they do this hoping you will start paying for drinks or if their plan is to avoid serving mains and pudding where possible to save money? Either way, it's unlikely you will appreciate your lunch spread...
Read moreVisited as part of the Magic Natura all inclusive visit. We arrived 30 mins early and hoped to sit down with a drink (would've happily paid for it) but was asked to leave and come back in half an hour.
We went back on time and took a seat. We were offered a choice of alcoholic sangria or non alcoholic San Francisco - drinks were good!
Toilets were dirty, one toilet roll to share between men's and ladies toilets. No soap in either and hand dryers were useless.
Both waiters were abrupt and we were made to feel like an inconvenience. They seated all 'hotel people' together and seemed to provide a better service to the 'paying customers'.
A single sided piece of paper was shoved on the table and one of the waiters said he recommends the nachos to share. We felt pushed to make a decision as he was hovering over us, waiting for a decision. So we went for the nachos and chicken as the main for the 3 of us.
One plate of nachos arrived, which seemed to be the same size regardless of how many people were sharing - they were pretty tasty!
The plates were cleared and we were sat waiting for at least 40 mins for the main. When it finally arrived, the chicken was barely even lukewarm. It was as if it had been sat on the side for the last half an hour. We took 1 bite each and left. The table behind us had fish which was also cold - they left at the same time.
Terrible service and dangerous food. Shame as its in a lovely location and we would've returned as...
Read moreWe had this as part of our hotel upgrade. We booked lunch for 2:30pm and decided to spend the time before that at the beach so we planned our whole day around this. We arrived at the Maui beach club and said ‘hi we have a reservation for 2:30pm’ to which the lady gestured ‘shooing’ us away with her hand saying ‘not possible not possible’ I then said ‘no we have booked already!’ Thinking she misheard and she then slapped her hand on her head and stated ‘name?’ In the most rude way, she then pointed at a table outside and said ‘there!’ So we sat, at a table not set up, no one came to us with menus, no one took drinks orders, we sat a little longer, looking around at all dissatisfied faces, then we got up to ask if anyone would take our drinks orders to be told yes and to sit down again, no one came, we sat a little longer and the table next to us approached us to say ‘we waited over an hour for our starter and the service is terrible, very rude!, I wanted to let you know as you have young children with you!’ So we decided to get up and leave, we didn’t let the staff know seeing as no one was bothered about us anyway. We then had to go pay and eat elsewhere.
We complained to the hotel, and they were absolutely brilliant and very ashamed about how the experience was. They set us up with a lunch a couple days later at another hotel near the beach which was absolutely delicious with excellent service and...
