This was our second visit to the restaurant, and we were sad to see the standard had dropped. Ordered my steak rare and received it medium-well done. The chef followed the food out of the kitchen and stood alongside the waitress to ask if it was cooked to my liking. After I politely mentioned that it was more cooked than I would have liked but that I was happy to eat it, I was told that I should have been more clear and asked for it to be “very rare” and was not offered a replacement. This isn’t the response I was expecting from an alleged experienced chef however I chose not to respond.
As it is advertised as a steakhouse, I simply cannot understand how you can serve an over cooked steak and blame the customer.
The wine was nice and well priced, and the food also reasonable. The atmosphere wasn’t the best, as the gentleman that greeted us seems unbothered and somewhat annoyed that we had come to dine. I’m not sure if we would come back again, and we are sad to say that as our first experience was so good.

Unfortunately I do not have an option to respond to the comment/response from the restaurant below. The steak was overcooked and having already brought it to the attention of the chef and waitress and being told I was wrong - I did not feel comfortable being confronted again. I do not believe you should have to complain twice, not did I expect such a defensive response. The flavour was nice, as were the vegetables and not wanting to pay for two meals, I chose to eat it.
I believe I have been polite and fair in my review and do not appreciate the response received. The restaurant is nice, I just think constructive criticism and transparency are always key.
In regards to your comment about my one review - this is my new email address and I did in fact leave a five-star with photos previously after our first visit which I am happy to remove if you'd prefer. Thank...
Read moreWe really liked it here. We were lucky to get a last minute table the night before for our belated valentine's day meal.
We both enjoyed our starters, the scallops were worth the extra. I do prefer Scottish scallops though but it was a nice treat.
My partner's main got upgraded from a 8 oz rump to a filet steak which was a lovely gesture. We're sharers and I tried it too, it was probably the best flavoured steak I've ever eaten. Most of their steaks are from Argentina & cooked in the Argentinian style. I enjoyed my beef bourguignon too, the beef in that was also rich & well cooked, plenty of mushrooms too.
For dessert, we got our favourite, vanilla cheesecake & my partner chose the chocolate coulant. They also had a bread & butter pudding which I think we should have tried, as it's a bit different.
I thought having the sanitary products for the ladies was very thoughtful. It's not great to get caught out when you're out for a nice meal.
My only constructive criticism would be to have a price list for the other drinks on the menu as not everyone likes wine. It's nice to see the choices available & know the...
Read moreThe restaurant was full and we hadn't booked our table for 2. The manager was great and said to return in about 40 mins. I was so relieved, and said Thank you as I'd chosen there for my 60th Birthday whilst on holiday. When we returned later we were taken to our table which had streamers and a Birthday Banner on it. It was so thoughtful, and they made me feel very special throughout our meal. The food was fantastic. I had a prawn cocktail - the prawns were so fresh and the marie-rose sauce was spot on. I decided to have Surf and turf for my main - the steak was perfectly cooked and there were 5 or 6 massive shell on prawns - gorgeous. I was so full I couldn't fit in a dessert, which looked great to. Fantastic meal, lovely Atmosphere, so attentive for my 60th and the price was really reasonable. You knew exactly what you were going to pay, off a large set menu, with added supplements for certain extras, choosing a 2 or 3 course meal at £24.95 or £29.95....
