Restaurante Italian Twist — Restaurant in Benidorm

Right.. so, Trip advisor brought my wife and I to this place. Let's just say that I am so glad it did.. The gentleman who runs this place with his partner (the chef) was friendly, knowledgeable and a wonderful 'character' in equal measure. A lovely gentleman. He chatted when we wanted to chat and left us alone to eat when we didn't. A wonderful perceptive host. On to the food, to start I had Wild Mushroom Brucheta. It was delicious, with a great 'bite', fresh, and topped off with a wonderful grilled cheese decoration which really made the dish. My wife had Arancini which was delicious (according to her) and she knows that dish very well. For main course I had Risotto 'twist', absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, perfectly proportioned just delicious, the best I have ever had. I nearly had the lasagne and I am so glad I went with my instincts - although I will certainly try that on one of my future visits. My wife had Pesto Pasta with chicken, she loved it - I tried a bit and whilst I am not usually a fan of pesto I found this delicious, enough to make me willing to try Pesto again. We had both enjoyed our meals that much we just didn't want a desert, it would have been delicious though I have no doubt. We had a couple of beers with our meal and finished off with some complimentary Limoncelo. The meal cost us 50 euro's is all in and whilst not cheap it represented fantastic value for what was a meal ( and service) of the highest quality. You will be hard pushed to find better Italian food anywhere - and yes that includes Italy where I have been more than once. Brilliant is all I can say, the chef even came to see us and ask what we thought with genuine interest rather than going through the motions. My wife and I spent a week in Benidorm recently and were hoping to have a nice meal out before we returned home on 19th April. We managed to book a table in Italian Twist via WhatsApp for the night before our departure. We arrived at 7:30pm and were greeted by Flavio who guided us to our table and seated us. We like a bottle of wine with meals, and Flavio spent a few minutes asking us about our wine preferences before recommending a Puglia Grande Amore red, which was superb.

On to the food - we shared a garlic bread twist with alioli to start, and I had the lasagne twist while my wife had the special linguine chicken pesto as our mains. To say the food was good would be a massive understatement, it was fantastic! The service was impeccable, and I would suggest that anyone who wants to work 'front of house' should go and observe Flavio to see how it should be done properly. Despite it being a small restaurant there was no feeling of being rushed in order to free up the table. Indeed, it was so relaxed that we had time to order another bottle of that beautiful wine.

When the meal was over we got to meet Nino, the magician in the kitchen, who had prepared such beautiful food for us. Our overall opinion of Italian Twist is that it is a fantastic restaurant, and we will definitely be back (hopefully more than once) on our next visit to Benidorm.

Finally, I'd like on behalf of my wife and I to wish Flavio and Nino every success in the future as they are two of the nicest guys you could meet and have obviously put their hearts and souls into their restaurant.

Beautiful, authentic Italian restaurant in Benidorm old town.

We visited this Italian restaurant at the end of April 2025, after wanting to visit for the previous times we’ve been in Benidorm but couldn’t get a booking, and we’d heard so many good things about it.

It’s a gorgeous little restaurant and the owners are lovely, one of the owners came over and had a conversation with us which was nice and welcoming (I’m so sorry I can’t remember his name), which you don’t experience at many restaurants so this was lovely. He could tell us so much about the menu and dishes that they offer, so it was obvious that they were amazing at cooking authentic Italian dishes due to his knowledge.

The food was great, authentic and fresh Italian dishes. The portion sizes are smaller than usual Italian restaurants but definitely enough for one person.
