EL BODEGON Aurrera — Restaurant in Benidorm

A different restaurant experience: If we hadn’t already ordered drinks, we would have left the table and gone somewhere else. The noise alone was enough of a red flag to not choose this restaurant. My husband uses an hearing aid and that day we were practically jealous of him having the ability to turn it off! After a bad night sleep I was jumping of my seat every time the waiter shouted to guest at nearby tables and the waitress was dragging metallic chairs across the floor. After ordering an extra portion of fries with our beef and burgers, the fries arrived first. But while serving us the plate, most of the chips landed directly on the table. Accidents happens, but did he really have to ask us if we wanted a new one? Did he expect us to eat it off the table…? We started laughing. We misunderstood and figured out that the beef was raw and we had to fry it on a hot plate placed in front of us. But after a while, the whole room was covered in smoke and other guests started to turn around looking at us! But some moments later, others ordered the same dish, and at one part of the evening we weren’t even able to see the other side of the room… After having to asking twice for a second round of drinks we got three rounds on our bill. But at this point we weren’t all that surprised. The drinks were really small and the cups were quite big, the salt and pepper was served “McDonalds style”, still, the food was ok and the service really fast, but we could not get out of there...

Terrible experience at this restaurant. This was our first time in Benidorm and decided to visit this restaurant for a family celebration. Very disappointed with the customer service and lack of transparency on menu. We felt rushed to order and food when it arrived was terrible. The meatballs were under cooked, the paella was tasteless and the squid was hard and tasted like rubber. We were very disappointed with lack of transparency on the menu were we order 100 g of squid at €5.50 only to be later charged €30 at the end of the bill. At no point were we informed or was it on the menu that the minimum order is 400mg. Even at 400mg order, this cost would not add up to €30. The issue here is not the money however the lack of transparency to the customers as to the real cost of what was being ordered and thus felt dishonest. The waiters were rude and arrogant when this was raised. This experience ruined what should have been a happy occasion due to lack of customer service and care. We will not be returning to this restaurant and do not recommend...

Myself and my friend came for lunch and had the most beautiful seafood paella, we had great service and enjoyed it so much that the following night we brought back our friends. Unfortunately when we had our friends with us a female server walked off mid order, when food came to our table we had dishes that no one had ordered it was a shambles. When our food did come dishes was missed but none of us could be bothered to argue anymore. The female server dropped a dish which resulted in garlic Ali oli splattered up my friends back. Such a shame that we had such terrible service that night. Day service was so good, im unsure of the name of our server in the day but he was fabulous. I feel mixed about this place. Staff need training by stronger...
