Stumbled across this place whilst exploring the old town the previous day. And what a find it turned out to be. The term hidden gem is often overused, however in this case it is entirely justified. We nearly didn't enter as the restaurant was empty, but based on the previous reviews we took the plunge and I am so happy we did. As soon as we entered we were made to feel very welcome and soon felt right at home. The host, I think his name is Alex, sorry but we didn't ask, was fantastic, helpful and great fun. We ordered meatballs and grilled cuttlefish for starters and we're persuaded to try the bread and aioli which is made in house, all of it was fantastic. We had the arroz negro (paella prepared with squid ink) for our main, expertly prepared fresh by the chef, I think he is Manu. The food here is amazing and I think you would be hard pressed to find better in Benidorm. Extremely good value for money as well. The decor is plain and rustic, nothing fancy, but the food and service are outstanding. Places like this deserve to be supported, an empty restaurant shouldn't always be bypassed. If you're in Benidorm, please give it a try, I guarantee you will not be disappointed. All the best, Peter...

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at this fantastic restaurant, and it was an experience to remember! From the moment we arrived, Alex, the host, made us feel so welcome and ensured every detail of our evening was perfect.
The food was exceptional—without a doubt, the best paella in Benidorm! The flavors were rich and authentic, cooked to perfection. We also indulged in some incredible starters and a perfectly cooked steak that rivaled anything we’ve had before.
To top it all off, the homemade Agua de Valencia cocktails were a true highlight—refreshing, vibrant, and the perfect accompaniment to our meal.
You won’t regret eating here—not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the value is unmatched. The quality of the dishes and the overall dining experience far exceed the price.
The combination of outstanding food, impeccable service, and Alex’s warm hospitality made this dining experience unforgettable. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must-try. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you, Alex, for making our...
Read moreWe were there and ate 2 times during our week in Benidorm. The first time we got there we had to turn around when the restaurant was fully booked. We had to book us for dinner the evening thereafter and then for lunch again a day later. The restaurant is a small family restaurant with good seafood. Nice reception and good service. Prices are also good. Those who find J Manu have usually been recommended there or have eaten there before. People are prepared to wait outside for 20-30 minutes if they know that a table will be available in the meantime. We ate their paella, whole grilled fish, calamari, sepia, tiramisu and spanish cake with almonds. Everything was simply Delicioso! We will return there on our next visit...
