NORTE Gastrobar — Restaurant in Burgos

we wanted to like this place because of the great food. But the horrible service absolutely ruined it for us. We first showed up and sat down the man on the terrace. Completely ignored us for 20 minutes when we finally flagged him down we got some drink orders and then he continue to ignore us for another 20 minutes. When we asked him why we were being ignored he said we were late for our reservation and that affects our service. we then went inside to ask for help from another employee and a very kind woman continue to help us throughout the night. She completely took over the table and made the rest the evening exceptional. We were about to get up and leave before she came to the table and asked us to stay and continue to help us with a smile. The place is usually crowded. If you like places where you like to eat as you would do at your grandma's then this is not your place. The menu card needs translation even for the locals. It is so elaborated that you need to ask the waiters/waitresses about it to find out the food you will be eating. The curry potatos are lame and they do not have a great selection of beers, unless you like artisan ones. Tables are unused with the reserved message for hours, even though nobody sat down during the hour and half or two hours we spent at the place. In my opinion you must like to eat these type of places of gastro top notch places where everything is beautiful even in the menu, but you won't feel satified and may end up going at the kebbab shop next door to fill your hunger. Excelente comida, nos dejaron estar en el salón con nuestra perrita. Servicio súper amable y atento. Comimos allí y Teníamos reserva para cenar pero nos equivocamos de fin de semana en la reserva del alojamiento así que volveremos la semana que viene sin duda.

Probamos los siguientes platos:

Croqueta de compango deconstruida: cremoso, con toque crujiente, sabor potente. De lo mejorcito que comimos.

Regañá de Steak Tartar: rica, pero para mi gusto un poco fuerte de mostaza (quizá el plato más flojo, pero hay que tener en cuenta que era un día frío y no es lo que más apetecía)

Patatas “baconetas”: nada que ver con las típicas bacon cheese fries, patatas en gajo especiadas pero bien crujientes, dados de bacon y la salsa (tipo gaucha). Me parecieron BRUTALES.

Taco de ternera con vegetales salteados: carne picada con cebolla encurtida y un poco de guacamole. No soy un gran fan de los tacos pero hay que reconocer que estaban buenísimos. No obstante, no vi los vegetales salteados.

Chocolate, bizcocho de tres leches, aceite de oliva, sal y galletas: fue nuestra opción para el postre, bastante rico y bien para compartir entre dos.

Café: tomé un espresso y mi novia uno con leche, preparación cuidada con un corazoncito hecho con la espuma y buen café.

En cuanto a la carta de vinos, no es extensa pero está bien seleccionada. Tomamos Guímaro Camiño Real, un excelente vino en el que predomina la uva mencía y se siente el sabor de la ribeira sacra con el toque fresco que otorgan sus suelos graníticos. Además, lo servían por copas tomé yo 2 y mi pareja una.

Además de eso 2 botellas de agua y le pusieron un cuenquito de agua a Cecilia (nuestra perrita).

El precio para dos rondó los 50€. Seguramente en Burgos se pueda comer por menos dinero pero no creo que con un menú tan cuidado, ni con una atención tan buena en un local...
