The only word that the waiter spoke to us was "no". I am aware that waiters in Spain don't usually speak English and I don't expect them to and instead try to communicate with a few words in Spanish. This is the first time I meet a really rude waiter. We sat at a table at breakfast time, all people around us were having breakfast. I asked "menu?" and and "breakfast" and the waiter simply said "no" to both questions and just left us. Not even a slightest attempt to communicate. After some time of wondering what to do and waiting to see if he would come back we left. I usually would not even bother to write a review after such a situation but I am upset because the google reviews totally misled us about this place. I specifically chose it after spending some time reading reviews and it totally...

We went on Friday 9th December at lunch wanting to try the menu del dia which is supposed to be served Monday to Friday (except holidays) but were told that we couldn’t have it because it was a holiday (it wasn’t). I’m certain that our waiter was the one mentioned in other reviews as being rude and surly…..which I don’t really care about as long as the food is good but overall it wasn’t. The salmorejo was tasty but the merluza was dry and flavourless, pork chops were fine but not worth the price when not part of the menu for dia. Perhaps it’s worth going if you’re lucky enough to get a different waiter or if you’re not a tourist which is a shame given all the other...

Honestly waiter always forgot what we wanted and didn't speak a single word English. The chickrn and pork soup was a clear soup and basically with 4.80 euros a bit too expensive. The other soup (lamb stew) was exactly the same clear soup but with ham and chicken. This was 5.60. also a bit expensive. Main course (burger) looked very nice but was a bit not with too much taste. If you hungry and don't mind for better food then this place ok. But there are definitely better places with much better quality as well quantity. The dog fish was a bit sour. So all together only two stars. Summary: not really good food which is...

We stumbled across la Gloria hoping to get some traditional food, without realising it was a historical legendary place within Cordoba. After looking at the decorations it sparked curiosity and interest! The owner was friends with the bull fighting champion of 1967 and passed on his positions to the owner of the restaurant and now it’s a monument to his success. The food and service was brilliant although it was very busy we were looked after and enjoyed our meal and wine.

We found this place last minute while looking for something to eat and drink right in the middle of siesta time. It’s a charming bar with a long-standing feel and a surprisingly varied menu. We tried the salmorejo, fried anchovies, and grilled squid, all were delicious. The staff doesn’t speak much English, but communication wasn’t an issue, and they do have an English menu available. A great find for an authentic bite!
