SO DELICIOUS!! After a few weeks traveling through Spain, I was in search of something different to eat. Then I happened upon Mola! while meandering through the charming town of Girona. It was exactly what my taste buds needed. First, the service was super friendly and kind. The young gentleman behind the counter was so gracious as I fumbled with the Spanish language, and he quickly switched to English for me. He also made me feel very welcome as I was traveling alone. Then came the food...seriously one of the best pasta meals I have eaten (and I've traveled extensively throughout Italy, including four weeks hiking the Via Francigena). Regarding the reviewer who said she's from the States and had never had homemade pasta before--we have plenty of great places in the US that make their own pasta. (Not all of us eat fast food like McDonald's!) However, I will say that they usually come at a much higher price. Mola! was not only homemade and super delicious, but it was so reasonably priced. The inside is small and cozy, but don't let that stop you from dining at Mola! It is so worth it. Also, I bought a brownie to take back to my hotel for later. Darn it I wish I would have bought two because they were super yummy as well. Not exaggerating when I say it was the best brownie I had ever eaten. Overall such a great experience, and I highly recommend. And lastly, thank you, kind young gentleman, for helping me out and being...
Read moreI wish I had the opportunity to taste the food but our experience with the rude chef in advance of the restaurant opening made us decide to eat elsewhere.
We were waiting by the entrance shortly in advance of opening time hoping to get one of the few tables. The sign stated it opened at midday. Another family were soon standing alongside us waiting patiently for opening. Between midday and 12.10 my 6 year old son occasionally put his hands on the window (not banging in any way) to look in and see what was happening. At that point the chef aggressively strode over, opened the door and shouted at him not to touch the glass, shut the door and retreated back inside. My 4 year old became upset so we made a decision that they were not a family friendly place and decided to go elsewhere. Incidentally the family who were also waiting with children also decided to leave and commented on the aggression from the chef. We had a tasty meal at Brots de Vi just around the corner which I would recommend and is accomodating to...
Read moreFirst of all: the food is great! But the overall experience was quite disappointing, so that is why I can only give 3 stars.
We found this place on Glovo, but decided to check their own website, so that they don’t have to pay the Glovo commission. On their website is a big button to order via WhatsApp.
That’s what we did, but an hour later we hadn’t received a confirmation yet. So I went to the place to order in person. The guy who was working there had to do everything on his own and apologised that he hadn’t read the message.
But then the next disappointment came: we wanted to order two pastas and a tiramisu. Both our chosen pasta types were not available and neither was the tiramisu. Out of 10 pasta types they have on the menu, there were only 5 available. And out of 5 desserts, there were only 2.
So all in all, the service was really disappointing. Maybe we just were unlucky today. Because again: the food was...
