There is no doubt the highlight of Estrellas de San Nicolas is the exceptional view of the Mirador from your table. We took the option of sitting right in the window for an unobstructed view while eating, but that privilege comes with an added 10% on your bill. Still, watching the setting sun turn the Alhambra brilliant gold while sipping local wines and consuming good food is an experience. And for us, even with two bottles of decent wine, the cost was very reasonable. The food itself was, as many reviews have stated, good rather than brilliant. We enjoyed it, but probably wouldn’t have come just for that. Service was, however, excellent, allowing us to eat at a slower pace and not feel rushed. A lot of tourists on our night - most speaking English - but the background noise was comfortable and allowed us to easily converse without feeling like everyone could hear us. Nice place,...
Read moreMy husband and I made an 8 pm reservation a couple months in advance, to ensure we were seated on the deck to oversee Alhombra. The view was incredible and the breeze made it a great experience considering it was a nearly 100 degree day. We were lucky enough to finish up just as it got dark (around 10 pm) and the lights went on. To see Alhombra both during the day and at night made this dinner 100% worth it. However, I’d recommend trying for an 8:30 pm reservation. The staff was antsy at the end to have us wrap up to give the table to the next reservation. (Fair enough.)
Regarding the food, it was good. The burrata salad was especially memorable, along with the crème bulee. However, I had had better paella in Grenada and my husband didn’t love the octopus. Again, they were good enough though. Absolutely recommend dining here. Planning is likely necessary though to get...
Read moreGreat food, great service, great atmosphere, and an unforgettable view.
Firstly, its best to reserve in peak holiday season, and when you see the view you'll know why.
We arrived at the restaurant at 8pm, so that we could eat our meal during sunset.
It was a really hot day (around 40C) and I was worried about the building having air con. I was even more concerned, when the waitress escorted us up to the roof terrace! I needn't have worries, since the breeze was fantastic and a number of blinds protected us from the heat.
We had a fantastic view of the Alhambra Palace and could also hear the musicians playing in the adjacent Mirador.
Thew food and presentation was of a very high quality and the waitress was very attentive.
It was probably the most expensive meal we had in our week in Granada, but...
