I’ll start with the worst part where we saw a huge bug/fly in our sangria. That actually took away anything that could be good about this place and the worst part is we noticed that after my mom drank the whole thing. The bug was under the ice and the fruits so we believe that it was there from the beginning. Then we all looked at our own glasses and noticed a small fly in my dad’s sangria. Normally a small fly doesn’t bother me much but the bug in my mom’s glass was outrageous. We were expecting an apology but we didn’t get one and we paid the full amount for the sangria. Until this bug incident, we really liked the waitress though, she was very nice. The only part we were not happy about was when we showed the bug, the waitress just laughed and asked us if we wanted to continue drinking or if she should take them, as if we would want to drink more of that. This could have been handled a bit better I think. I regret that I forgot to take the picture of the bug in the glass but we were a bit shocked and my mom was a bit too quick to show the bug to the waitress. The food was okay but not anything special. I think for the taste it was way too expensive. We had better food for a lot cheaper (almost half the price) in other places.
Edit: As our waitress mentioned as well, everything was fine until we saw the bug and she was very friendly as I already mentioned above. And yes we only noticed the big bug when the sangria was done. I don’t even care about the small fly, but there was a huge bug in one of the glasses which was very disgusting to see (it was beneath the ice and the fruits, that’s why we believe it probably was in there already) It’s true that we didn’t overreact because there wasn’t much to be done since what’s done is done but yes we could have been a bit more explicit and ask her to tell/ask about this to...
Read moreVerde Rama: Divine Peppers & Paella Worth Every Minute of the Wait! My evening took an delightful, unplanned turn with an impromptu visit to Verde Rama restaurant tonight. Despite not having a reservation on what appeared to be a bustling evening, the team at Verde Rama graciously accommodated us, which was a wonderful start to an unexpected dinner.
We were immediately informed about a potential wait for certain dishes, specifically the paella we had in mind, which was fair and transparent. While we waited for our main, we kicked things off with the Padrón Peppers. And oh my, they were absolutely divine! Perfectly blistered, lightly salted, and utterly addictive – a perfect start that really whet our appetites.
Then came the moment for the star of the show: the Seafood Paella. We were told there would be a wait, and indeed, it took about 50 minutes for our generous pan to arrive, understandable given how busy the restaurant was. But let me tell you, every single minute of that wait was unequivocally worth it. The paella itself was a masterpiece – rich with succulent seafood, perfectly cooked rice with that coveted crispy 'socarrat' bottom, and a depth of flavour that transported us straight to the Spanish coast. It was clear this dish was prepared with care and fresh ingredients.
From the moment we walked in to the last delicious bite, Verde Rama exceeded expectations. The combination of warm hospitality, transparency about wait times, and truly exceptional food makes this a standout. I would absolutely, without a doubt, return to Verde Rama. A well-deserved...
Read moreThis place is a money-sucking touristic scam. They literally don’t let you even sit down if you’re just there for drinks, even at 4:17pm on a Tuesday when literally the ENTIRE restaurant is empty and they have to stay open all day anyway. This is the most un-Spanish thing I’ve seen in Granada and this place clearly just exists to suck money out of tourists. The absolute gall of this place to have this as a policy that they are not even ashamed of. It’s disgusting. Avoid this place at all costs, if for nothing else than to protest its scammy, tourist-baiting policies. Literally the worst place in Granada.
UPDATE: The owner has responded quickly to affirm that they discriminate against local culture in order to make a few extra tourist bucks. Foreign tourists and Spaniards alike — boycott this place!!! Even when they are EMPTY, they turn away locals who only want to have drinks, even if they are spending more money than 1 person eating the cheapest meal. This place is the flagship for BAD TOURISM. Don’t support it with your Euros. They are clearly also bad business people if they think that a table of 1 person eating a meal will bring them more money than a table of 5 local women having 2 or 3 or 4 rounds of drinks. Screw this place!...
