Saw a positive review of this restaurant on facebook and thought that we would give a try for our anniversary. We turned up latish on a Thursday evening, not having booked. There was only one other couple there, so we thought that they would want to close. However, nothing was too much bother and when they heard about our anniversary, Gonzalo made sure that we had a lovely evening. The food was lovely, fresh and plentiful - too much for us. The upstairs of the restaurant looks uninspiring, although the night view over the bay and the sound of the crashing waves was worth it. In contrast, downstairs is very atmospheric and explains the name of the restaurant - The Cave. The staff would happily have let us have had a table there, but we've decided to save that for another day. If you love fresh seafood, we would highly recommend that you try La Cueva...
Read moreWe came here for a small lunch because everything else in Los abrigos was full. We were the only two guests on four floor no 1 and asked for the only table for two at the sea front. But we didn't get it, because it was booked. It took a while to order the drinks, even though we are the only guests in front of the bar and in the room. The food was good. If your Glas is empty, they don't see it and ask if you like more. Even if you are still the only two in the room. Later, we realized that there was a second room downstairs, with two (!) more guests. They had to come upstairs to the bar to pay when they finished their meal. All in all: nice location, but bad service with high prices. NO recommendation!
PS: As we left, the table at the sea front, we asked for, es still available! Because nobody else came in the...
Read moreWe booked La Cueva for our last night in Tenerife before flying home. The restaurant is spectacular as it is positioned on the ocean front and you can actually eat in a cave (cueva) where there are some tables arranged. Although we were not lucky to have a table there, I can tell you that it was 🔥🔥🔥. The food is also amazing, I had a rice cooked in fish broth (a combination of paella and soup) which was SUPERB. Our friends had the tuna steak which was cooked perfectly, pink in the middle and juicy. Staff was very nice, making us laugh and very amiable and pleasant. The desert selection was also a nice surprise as they have a large sellection of mousses which are shaped as fruit. A lovely, lovely experience...
