Aqui Risto Lounge Bar — Restaurant in La Oliva

Very disappointed especially after reading the positive reviews. There was very loud music making it difficult to talk to my partner, the DJ didn't seem to know why he was even there. Also, there were disco lights all over the place.

The service was overall quite poor, our waiter didn't even try to speak English, and just continued to speak to us in Spanish. Took over 15min before they came to take our order for drinks. Another 10 before we could order dinner.

Main dishes were OK at best. The portion sizes are way off, especially with the Chicken Curry. The rice was hard and sticky, almost like gum.

Halfway through dinner there was a dragqueen who started performing in a tight leopard costume, again with a volume such that the whole island could enjoy it. He came up to the tables to include people in his 'show', which was him playbacking to unknown songs.

At this point it was clear that there was no chance of having a nice and peaceful dinner with my partner, where we could actually talk with each other.

The daiquiri was quite good though, and the staff seemed to enjoy the show.

We visited Aqui Risto in El Cotillo a couple of times during our stay in Fuerteventura last week. The staff were incredibly attentive and genuinely friendly, creating such a welcoming atmosphere.

Both times we were there, they came around with complimentary popcorn and snacks to enjoy alongside our drinks – a lovely touch that made it feel extra special. The drinks are very reasonably priced, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The mango mojito in particular is a must try!

On one evening, I even misplaced my phone and to my huge relief, someone had handed it in here. Thanks to their honesty and helpfulness, I was reunited with it – a gesture I’ll never forget.

After reading the good reviews we were looking forward to dining here. However our experience was very disappointing. The menu was very limited and they didn’t even have half of the things on there. The food we did have was “average “ and not worth the money. There was a DJ and a guy playing the saxophone which was far too loud for an ambient dining atmosphere. You had to shout across the table to each other to be heard. This is fine for a bar where you are coming for a drink but not for a nice meal out .
