A great bar with great music. All ruined by some of the worst food I've ever been served. I had the 'pleasure' of eating here several times. It was not by choice! Fried eggs are served burned on the bottom and raw on the top. The consistency with which the chef can achieve this is quite remarkable. English breakfasts are served with a miniature, thimble sized pot of baked beans. Beans are sold in massive catering packs and are traditionally used to bulk out meals on the cheap. At Rock Cafe, I think they must pay someone to count them out bean by bean. Disappointed with the dry breakfast I’d eaten the day before, I thought I’d order a large one. It came with the same miniature pot... The rest of the menu is bizarre. Everything is drowning in cheese or weird sauces. Except for the steak, no mushroom or pepper corn sauce... They're just dry with extra gristle. If you want a plain burger, tough! Don’t bother asking for one without something, as you’ll get it anyway. Chips look and taste like the cheapest bag of discount frozen fries money can buy. One night I was treated to a plate full of the tiny, razor sharp, shrapnel only found at the very bottom of a bag. Side salad was a pot of raw onion with a few tiny tomatoes thrown in? The most ludicrous experience is trying to eat here at night. There is no lighting near the windows, where most of the tables are placed. This must have caused complaints, because they have a shelf full of rechargeable, battery operated table lights. Unable to see what I was eating I asked for one. The shade has a solid base, light is thrown outward and upwards only. Nothing at all on the actual table. They shine straight in your face and make seeing your plate even harder... Though with food this badly cooked, perhaps that’s the point! If anyone at Rock Cafe ever reads this. Please increase your prices! Then hire a chef who can actually cook and doesn't hate their job. You can get away with cheap ingredients if the price is reasonable, but not when served up raw or burned!

Me and my partner went here for lunch the other day, although we visit Corralejo quite often we have never had food at the restaurant before only been there to watch the music. On entering the staff weren't very welcoming, they were talking to each other and not paying attention to customers. The waiter eventually came ever and took our order after we were able to get his attention. My partner ordered the first chicken burger on the menu and I ordered the surf and turf burger. When arriving they weren't presented well compared to other restaurants in Corralejo. Me and partner began to eat our meals, after my partner had eaten half of his burger I questioned why it looked different (i dont have very good eyesight and at the time had my prescription sunglasses on and had left my normal glasses at the hotel) , when he checked his chicken burger was raw. I took this up to the waiters who were again talking and not paying attention, but greeted me at the end of the bar when she saw me stand. She took the meal from me looked at it and gasped, she asked my partner if he wanted an alternative but my partner felt sick as he has already eaten half of this burger. The waiter took this away, not once did they apologise or give an explanation, none of the staff spoke to us after this, we asked for our bill and they did take this meal off, but not one of them told us what they were going to do. I then took the bill to the bar as they would not come over to us. Me and my partner did not react in a bad way, we weren't unfriendly as we are very friendly and caring people, but we will not be returning even to just watch the music

Here’s a revised version of your statement: --- We ordered food and waited 40 minutes for two pieces of garlic bread, only to be informed there were no chicken strips available. We opted for mozzarella sticks instead, which took about 20 minutes to arrive and tasted bland and very dry; thankfully, we had strawberry jam to complement them - it didn’t. When one of our mains, a steak, finally arrived, it was dropped off without cutlery. We were told knives and forks would be brought shortly, but it took another 10 minutes and the arrival of our second main meal before we received them. The mac and cheese was the worst I’ve ever had—just a massive blob with the most unpleasant-tasting cheese on lukewarm macaroni. The service was terrible. We couldn't get another drink and had to make one drink last the entire duration. The steak wasn’t cooked as requested, was covered in charcoal, hadn’t been rested, and was dripping in grease.

This place looked very good, so we saved the best for last and went here on our last day. Unfortunately looks can be deceiving and it was.

For starters I had the chicken strips, the crust was very good, but the chicken was HORRIBLE. I couldn't even bite into the chicken, it was like tasteless rubber. I literally only ate the crust of these overly fried chicken strips. (7,- wasted there) My boyfriend had the Garlic bread, that was decent. Then again, can't go wrong with garlic bread, even a kid can make that.

As for the main course, i had the Chicago chicken. Here, same as with the starter, the chicken was very dry. I could bite into it this time (this was grilled, not fried, so luckily it didnt turn into a full rubber mess like the starter did), but it wasnt soft and tasty like i expected it to be. The side of fries was also horrible. Saggy, soft, undercooked fries. I still get amazed by how people can mess up fries. I love fries, but i barely touched these, thats how bad they were. My boyfriend had the Mac&Cheese, which was very overcooked watery pasta with tastless cheese.

The service was also horrible. We waited about 40 mins to order, then an hour for our starters and after that it took 2 hours(!) to bring us the main course. In total we spent 4 hours in that place and left very disappointed and unsatisfied. The server didnt want to be there, wasnt making eyecontact while she was walking around, so it was extremely hard to get her attention to get refills on drinks, order and even getting the bill. After 30 mins of trying to get her attention, we went up to the bar and paid there.

In short: food that i could have made better myself and unfriendly, very slow service. Dont go here if you wanna grab a quick bite or want something tasty. Even burger king...
