A Perfect Culinary Discovery in Malaga: On our first trip to Malaga, we stumbled upon a gem—Benjamin, a charming restaurant nestled on Calle Strachan. As luck would have it, we arrived early in the evening, and thanks to the sun gracing the opposite side of the street, our outdoor table enjoyed the perfect shade and temperature.
From the moment we were greeted by Leo, our delightful waiter, we knew were in good hands. His fluent English, attentive nature, and infectious smile set the tone for an unforgettable evening. We opted for the chorizo paella—a departure from our usual seafood pick. Leo informed us it would take about thirty minutes, as each dish is lovingly prepared fresh to order. And let me tell you, he wasn’t exaggerating—the paella was nothing short of sensational. Packed with rich chorizo, tender fillet steak pieces, and a depth of flavour that still lingers in our memory. Honestly, it might just be the best paella I've ever tasted—and that's saying something coming from someone who takes pride in their own!
Adding a touch of sparkle to our evening, Leo brought us complimentary glasses of prosecco, which paired beautifully with the meal and enhanced the celebratory vibe. As we sipped and soaked in the lively atmosphere, the now, setting sun cast a gentle glow behind us, bathing our table in warmth and magic.
Our visit to Benjamin rounded off a truly glorious and memorable day in Malaga. We’ll absolutely return—and when we do, there’s no question where we’ll dine. Why search elsewhere when you’ve found a place that...
Read moreI can’t believe I just paid for that, it was so bad. No idea how they got these reviews. The bread they gave me at the start for free had hair in it which was cool. Got the mortadella with pistachios and it literally tasted like Aldi’s minion ham except it costs nearly 20 euros and I got the ‘fresh’ artichoke which has zero flavour which is crazy given the amount of garlic on it. On top of that the waiter looked like he was having an aneurysm when giving him my order, either that or this was his first interaction with another person. Might not even be a waiter just some guy off the street. He got my order wrong with the drinks but another waiter made up for it by giving me a sample of what I first asked...
Read moreWow. Everything I read on the reviews before going is true. Warm & friendly service (thank you Zakaria!), great wine, and excellent food. We started with what must be one of my all-time favorite starters: the pork rolls on a bed of caramelized onions topped with a cheese emulsion (and I’m not much of a pork lover). A MUST if you eat pork. It’s delicate, surprising and plated to perfection. I forgot the name but show them the photo, it’s one of their signature dishes.
We went on with the seafood paella, which was just perfect (but come hungry! It’s 19€ per person and there’s enough to keep going back to it and then some more). This is definitely going on our list of recommendations for friends...
