100 Montaditos — Restaurant in Madrid

Non-Spanish people: Here's how to do it. Go in, find a table, fill out the paper at the table by looking at the menu which is half in English and Spanish but mostly understandable. One person brings the paper up to the cash register. Go back to your table. Then, a few minutes later they will call your name over the intercom. Go pick up your food.

Very hectic on a Wednesday because all sandwiches are €1. I thought they were normally €1 but I have no idea. They were so good though! For 2 of us we ordered 10 sandwiches and 3 sides which turned out to be ridiculous. The sandwiches are small but they are still sharable. One of the best montaditos in Madrid, despite being one of the busiest. The (Peruvian, I guess) guy with the glasses is an efficient maestro at taking orders and making coffee and juice . Even if the queue is out door you don't wait as long as you do in other montaditos where the staff do not have experience.they also make the coffee good and strong. One of the best sunshine terraces in the morning. Tables are battered chrome circles but that adds to the character and the staff clear them very regularly, if they don't the pigeons will smash everything. Super cheap Americanized menu in European portion sizes. I ordered the Gouda Cheese Bites which were served with a marmalade sauce and they were decent in taste. The hotdog and cheddar sauce was so basic and nothing to write home to mom about. The best feature here is the speed of food coming out the window, less than 3 minutes and the servers are absolutely on top of table service and cleaning the restaurant. The menu is very organized and has hundreds of small things so a great way to build a meal a la carte and sample.
