Really wanted to like this place but the food was really a disappointment. The server was really nice and attentive. We ordered the menu del día. The salad and the shrimp appetizers were delicious (but we only got 2 and the table besides us for 4, so a little unfair much?), the ham croquetas were very fried and lacked flavor. The huevos rotos weren’t what I was expecting, the eggs were very salty and so was the chorizo (we got Navarra style) over a bed of patatas (fries). Lastly we got solomillo (slices of pork chop) with caramelized onions that were way to salty.
Good place to eat but the food was lacking. We had two ladies sit next to us and they were complaining all lunch about how this restaurant didn’t have 4 things they wanted to order (including wine, specific tapas, and lemon water with no gas). The waiter got into an argument with them about not having “x” items and the definition of lemon water with no gas (he got them a lemon tea) which really surprised me because the waiter was being rude. It was intense. But later he came to apologize. I guess it’s the Spanish way.
This goes to show that this place wasn’t...
Read moreWe were in the area for two days and on the first night we had a wonderful dinner nearby but the restaurant was closed on Tuesday so we ended up visiting Canas and Tapas on Tuesday April 22,2025 around 10:30 pm. The place was not too busy at that time. The waitress gave us the menu but it took a while before she took our order. We only ordered calamares a la Andaluza to share with my husband and two beverages with alcohol. The food and drinks were okay. Since this was our last day in Madrid we had no cash and paid with a credit card. After we paid, the waitress in a very loud voice complained to her coworker how upset she was because we didnt leave a tip. She said, "what do people think that food and beverages get served on their own". I always tip when people deserves a tip, but there was no option to tip when paying with a credit card like in the US and I'm glad I didn't tip this lady with her attitude. I didn't know this was a chain. I typically avoid this type of places especially when there are great...
Read moreThe place and service was nice but the food was awful ( very low quality and very expensive). My partner and I went for breakfast and ordered a ham a cheese toasty, avocado toast and churros with chocolate. The ham and cheese toasty was really dry, the bread was really stale. It was even hard to cut it with a knife. Same for the avocado toast. Same bread and really no avocado and cheese. The churros, the typical pre-made process ones and one three units (which it was specified on the menu) but were incredibly small. Overall, it felt like and scam for tourist.
After the above review, the Business replied to my review with a very generic and a non-proactive answer. They basically do a copy and paste for the answers to the negative reviews. This is disappointing and quite frankly it shows how little they care. I also noticed that there very bad reviews and suddenly very good o, which, in my opinion, it seems questionable. If the business is going to give me the same generic response, please...
