Bar Petisqueira Restaurante — Restaurant in Madrid

Very strange experience, hear me out... Paella is good, and they gave us a free appetizer. But while most tapas didn’t cost too much, the “today’s special” (two types of octopus, fried and grilled) cost 30 euros. We weren’t informed of the price and by the time we got the bill and realized it was outrageously expensive, I asked the waiter for the special’s price list but he couldn’t produce it. Not written anywhere. So that wasn’t a good experience. But again, the paella was good, deserving the credit.

This restaurant is worth visiting. Food’s good, this double recipe octopus is GREAT. We really liked it. They could’ve been more informative regarding special’s pricing, especially to tourists, but I think they deserve one more star so I’ve edited it.

Visited with a friend as she told me she saw it recommended in some travel and food blog saying that the tapas that came with the drinks were great and big and we love tapas and cheap places. Unfortunately it wasn't good, the drinks were expensive compared to other places, especially as the tapa was quite poor. We got some sort of summer salad with the beer and soft drink. Another table that arrived later got some sandwiches and miniburguers with their drink order and I wonder if they gave us a not so good one because they considered us guiris as we were speaking English. I'm from Madrid but my friend is from the US and I've noticed some places treat us differently when I go with other local friends as opposed to my expat friends, which really sucks as I want to show them some real experiences and they get the tourist...

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in Madrid. We were 3, at 7:30 pm aprox and asked to sit to have some drinks. The place had about half of the tables available. After they brought the drinks the waiter came every 5 minutes to try and make us order food, after 10 minutes they told us to get up and go to the bar cus they needed the table (remember half of the tables were available), we did as told but really uncomfortable. When we got to te bar, the lady in charge started yelling at us rudely demanding us to pay and giving us a nasty attitude. Worst...
