Too often when you order any type of Asian food in Spain it is not authentic - it is the “Spanish-fied” version of that food. This is not the case at Bonjuk - they are a legitimate Korean restaurant, with bibimbap that is properly made. I found it funny that when 4 of us ordered 4 bibimbaps and one entree, the server asked us if we were hungry because it might be a lot of food - perhaps this is because we’re American, but it felt like just the right amount of food to me, nothing excessive! Still the staff were very friendly and joked around with us, the food was wonderful, especially the chicken we got for the table to share. This was a really good lunch, and I’d definitely come back. You know the place type - decoration and ambiance aren’t amazing, but they focus on what matters: good food that is cooked well and...
Read more10/10! My friend and I decided to try this place due to its high ratings and we weren't disappointed. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. She introduced us the franchise and the menu. We ordered kimchi pancake, tuna gimbap and dolsot bibimbap. Everything. Was. So. Delicious! I had no choice but to order the fish shaped bun for takeaway as I was too full... and oh man, I barely got a bite of it because my mum devoured it.
Will definitely visit again~ 🤩
P.S. For those who can't tolerate spiciness, the dishes we ordered were not spicy at all, yet very flavourful. Please don't be...
Read moreThe time at Bonjuk was truly a happy time. At Bonjuk, our family ate soft tofu stew, seafood porridge, stone pot bibimbap, fried chicken, gimbap, japchae and Other dishes. It was a rare rainy season in Spain, but the warm stew and porridge gave us new energy. The chicken was so crispy that it tasted just like Korea. I lived in England for nearly 10 years and ate a lot of Korean food in London and Koreatown, but this was much more authentic Korean food and all the menus at Bonjuk made my trip to Spain even happier. My mouth is watering even as I write this review. It's such a shame that I wasn't able to take photos because I was so focused on eating. The owner was really kind and treated our family with sincerity. And the owner and the chef were Korean, so it was real Korean food. If I go back to Spain, I will definitely go to Bonjuk again. I highly recommend it.
