I am honestly baffled of all the 5 star reviews. This was the worst meal we have had in Spain by a large margin. There were only four other tables with customers but we had to flag our waitress down to place an order. She was literally yawning as she took it. The floor was cluttered with used napkins. Under a table two away from us there was a broken glass and spilled drink and a napkin dispenser. None of this was cleaned up the entire time we were there After placing an order for Tequenos de Gouda we were informed they were out and they recommended a substitution of Finger de Mozarella. They were unremarkable as were the Alitas de Pollo and Gyozas Vegetal. Tasted much like frozen food I could buy at the grocery store and heat up at home. The french fries that came with the Alitas de Pollo were just bad - under cooked and soggy. The only thing I could recommend were the fried potatoes that came with the Finger de Mozarella as those were quite good. The gin & tonic was the most expensive one I purchased while in Spain from any other restaurant or bar. Upon finishing, we tried to flag down our waitress for the check several times with no success. I ended up going up to the counter to get her to check us out. Another table had to do the same just before us. While I was paying another party came up to the counter to complain the waitress got their order wrong. She didn't apologize and seemed put off she had to put in another order with the...
Read moreI usually avoid touristy places for food, but after hours of walking in the Madrid heat, tired and thirsty, I needed to find something nearby. This cute spot stood out. It wasn’t flashy or trying too hard, just simple and welcoming.
What convinced me to try it was seeing a young girl and her mom enjoying their meal on the patio. So, my husband and I sat down. A friendly lady with a warm smile came over quickly with menus. There were lots of choices, so I asked for her recommendation. She was honest and helpful, explaining which dishes had the freshest ingredients, the best quality, or the best value.
We took her advice, and everything we ordered was fresh, tasty, and full of flavor. Even the complimentary olives were great quality. We later found out she was the co-owner, which explained why she truly cared about our experience.
The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, the neighborhood had a great vibe, and the service was top-notch. The bill was also very fair, which was a lovely bonus.
It turned out to be one of our favorite memories from Madrid: good food, good people, and good vibes all around. If you’re in the area, definitely...
Read moreI’ve been studying in Madrid for 6 months and this is by a landslide the worst place i’ve ever been. Not only in Madrid, but maybe even in my life. First of the all, it took them 5 minutes before we got our knife/forks. Then the pizza that arrived was beyond horrible. We thought it was impossible to mess up a simple Pizza but Casa Garcia managed to find a way. We both tasted and spit it out, it tasted like nothing and the pizza was wet underneath. The peperoni pizza was sold out, the local supermarket probably didn’t have them anymore. Then to the spareribs. The menu said it would come with a side salad, but it never arrived. Then the spareribs were the most bland spareribs i’ve ever eaten, and they were cold. We’d strongly advice you not to eat here, there are so many other fantastic...
