Such a fun experience!! We went right after they opened (around 9:30) and did not have to wait in a line. However, once we were done, a small line had formed. The experience was very simple and exciting . They had so many more styles and colors than online, so I would for sure recommend visiting in person if you have a chance. We just showed the sales person a photo of the shoes we wanted and told him our size, and he brought us them. I recommend taking a photo of the shoes you would like from either the window or the wall (especially if you do not speak Spanish) and make sure you have your European shoe size on hand. This expedited the process exponentially, instead of trying to describe the shoes we wanted. Our sales associate was able to immediately recognize the shoes from the photo, and grab them for us very quickly. Do not be surprised if the first size you try on does not fit perfectly, and also do not be afraid to ask for sizes larger or smaller. The sales associate we worked with was so kind and brought us multiple different sizes, in multiple different shoe styles, to ensure we left with ones we truly wanted. Most of the shoes were more suited for women, but my brother purchased two pairs of the classic shoes, and probably could’ve have purchase more. While we didn’t have to wait in a line, I would easily wait in order to get these shoes again. The shoes are really easily compactible, so fitting them in luggage was a breeze. I purchased two pairs of sandals, and my brother purchased 2 of the classic shoes and we had no issues. They would make great gifts for the people back home!!! If you want a fun souvenir you will actually use, I would 100% recommend...

TERRIBLE QUALITY AND AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. A week ago I bought a pair of espadrilles for € 50 that caused me terrible blisters to the point that I bled, only using them once. I called the store to see if they could solve the problem and to my surprise, in addition to not receiving any solution, an extremely crass and aggressive man started yelling at me telling me to shut up and saying that his shoes did not cause blisters and that it was my fault or the shape of my foot. I am extremely upset with the product and the service provided. It is a pity that a store with so much history in Madrid, has that kind of treatment towards its customers. Personally, I will never again purchase anything in this store.

Please enter if you want to see what bad customer service is and what it means not to be able to do your job, which is selling shoes (despite the long tradition of the shop). Very, very unfriendly people, especially the lady, for instance I told her I wear a 40 in italy and so I have a 41 with spanish brands, she said it wasn't possible, I proved her wrong, their 41 were too short for me and I had to go for a 42! just to say one of the things that happened. Then she brought me out only one of the two styles I asked her to try + 2 styles that I didn't ask for; so I asked if I could have the second style I wanted to try, she replied to me that it's similar to the one I was already trying...! what the hell! How is people supposed to chose between two pairs if you don't let them try them on both?!?! At that point I got very annoyed, so I told her she could keep her shoes and I walked out (by the way the store was empty, a lady was being helped by a man)! I was really willing to buy at least a pair, but purchasing something in a store must be a pleasant experience, not an...

There is always a queue outside. If u don't understand Spanish, please note that you would need to wait until a staff in the counter calls you to come inside before u can enter the shop. Otherwise, no one will serve you. 2nd, please pick the items you are interested in. If you do not speak Spanish, taking a picture would be a good idea. Then, u can try the shoes and decide what you need. Their shoes are famous of handmade in traditional ways and perhaps because of the rumors of a visit by Yves Saint Lauren. In any case, the price is very fair. I have bought a pair of Paris for 35.5 euros. Very fair price. But beware that the espadrilles are made for endurance with a jute rope sole and a canvas or cotton fabric upper. They are not as soft and flexible as the materials nowadays. My espadrilles expanded after soaking in the rain. 😅 I waited for 70 minutes starting from the area at the end of the last window on the right. To me, the waiting was more of a tribute to the legacy.

Madrid. This store was definitely in my list to go buy espadrilles! Similar with other reviewers, best to look at window display, take pictures of shoes you like and only then do you enter the store, show the style you like & in what size. This is especially helpful since they don’t have any shoes displayed inside and speak very minimal English. I love the fact this is their one and only store and the price was very reasonable at around 30€. I already wore the espadrilles I bought, and they are very comfortable! Definitely wish I bought more than one pair and will for sure buy here again if ever we go back to Madrid.

The one thing I wanted from our Madrid trip was espadrilles. We arrived around 10am and had to wait about 15 minutes before we were allowed into the shop. You are then called in and a staff member helps you one-on-one. Tip for non-Spanish speakers: Take photos of the shoes you want in the store window and include the name of the shoe. (See pic example). That helps if you are served by a staff member who doesn’t speak your language. Also, have second choice for colors ready. There’s a huge selection but they may not have your size and color. Well worth the wait and good prices.
