Very cool looking restaurant with plenty of fun decoration details like the women statues hanging from the ceiling down to the toilets with the shoes on the doors and the casserole for sink. The restaurant offers delicious tradicional yet very original Spanish food at a very good price (~30€/person with wine and too much dessert ;-)). Even the bread was delicious with tastes of olives, tomatoes, and cereals. The croquetas were of 3 varieties: little squid with ink, rabo de toro (oxtail), and chuletón (beef). The potatoes with broken eggs came with a beautiful layer of yolks and parmesan. The bacalao was so light with a fresh taste of lemon and perfectly matching brown sauce of healthy black garlic. The tuna steaks/loins were again perfectly cooked on the grill while remaining pink in most of the centre. It came with that tomato puree with soya sauce that was working very well. The rice with quail, mushroom and parmesan was again very tasty. There is no dessert menu, instead the waiters come with a plater of cakes to show you what's available and there is still more available. I really liked that our waiter thought about the order they will serve the food for us to...
Read moreA local spot! The only English menu is available via an iPad and there was only 1 staff person who speaks English. (Don't get me wrong! These are all promising signs that this restaurant is cater to the locals!)
The food: Get the octopus! Get the sirloin steak. Get the cheesecake. Me and my wife shared 4 half-portion items (as per the only English speaking server's recommendation) and we were plenty full.
Service: Everyone is smiling and friendly. They know what hospitality means! I ordered some take-away and they ran out of plastic forks... let's just say they took very good care of me.
Atmosphere: The AC in the bar area is weak. But the dining room area was fine. The ambience was very lively.
This meal is by far the best meal I've had in Spain. Between Barcelona and Madrid, even an 1 Michelin star, none could provide the satisfaction and hospitality I received from this place. I would absolutely come back again.

Read moreSo, we have 2 prefered restaurants from Spain: one from Barcelona and one from Madrid. And Cuatrodeocho is the best from Madrid. We arrived at their opening, at 8 PM. They just started to prepare the food but this was not a real problem - we drunk one beer and indulge ourselves with chips they served us complimentary. What about the food? Ex ce llent!!! We started with a fabulous artichoke with gorgonzola and parmigiano, then we ate torreznos, for the 1st time, and it was a very good surprise. We already got pretty full since torreznos are high caloric. But we had some more space for the fried eggs with ham and potatoes. Mmmm, what a good taste. Lucky for us we could cancel the calamari (that we think were good as the rest of the food) since we had no room for more eating. What we have to mention is the decorations that...
