Miss Sushi Hortaleza — Restaurant in Madrid

Update: order the non traditional things from the menu. There are a few really good things on there that are unique to Miss Sushi. I have since tried all the other sushi in the area and Miss Sushi is by far, by FAR the best.

My first impression: I ordered the California Roll with tuna from the to go paper menu. It's tuna with cucumber 🤔 and mayonnaise 🤢ick. That was a nasty surprise. To be fair, the big menu explains that only some of the California rolls include avocado (that's a defining item of what a California roll is), but the paper menu doesn't mention that the California rolls aren't California rolls. Meh. Everything else was okay. I'll probably go back, possibly to a different location as this is a chain. I ordered a third roll with avocado (so an actual California roll) and they brought it, and it was good (even though it still had some mayonnaise in it for some reason). The decor is not that important to me but I find it hideous. It's looks like a US ghetto whorehouse. I was mildly embarrassed to be seen by passerby on the street sitting there. Lots of tacky hot...

Si alguna vez has paseado por las calles españolas, es probable que el nombre "Miss Sushi" te haga tilín en el estómago. ¡Pero espera, no es un concurso de belleza de pescado! Esta cadena es la reina de lo japonés barato en España, ¡y hasta hace delivery! Prepárate, porque te voy a contar cómo he conquistado sushi por menos de lo que cuesta un calcetín con agujeros.

Ahora, la pregunta del millón: ¿vale la pena o es un rollo de algas? He sido cliente habitual de Miss Sushi, y tengo secretos que compartir: ¿buscas ganga o sibaritismo? Esta cadena desafía la lógica con sus precios. ¡Algo más raro que un unicornio en patines!

Mi primera vez allí fue como entrar a un cuento de hadas rosa y morado. Era como si Barbie hubiera decidido abrir un sushi bar. Nos condujeron a la mesa con reserva, aunque parecía que estábamos en una fiesta en honor al neón.

La carta es más larga que un discurso de abuela en Navidad. Pero, atención, aquí los platos no son clones disfrazados de alga. ¡Aquí hay variedad, como en una fiesta de disfraces!

Empecé con Japobravas, unas bravas con toque wasabi. Buena, pero la patata más seca que un chiste malo en el Sahara. ¡Pero vaya wasabi! Luego, un Yakisoba con huevo que te derrite el alma. Y ahí vienen los Maki México: quicos, totopos, queso cabra y ¡voilà! ¡Un carnaval en tu boca!

No olvidemos el Maki Crazy Atún, envuelto en papel misterioso, y el Maki Crunch con su traje de tempura. ¿La sorpresa? No fueron los mejores maki, pero pagamos como si fueran joyas.

Ah, pero no se acaba aquí la fiesta. ¿Sabes cuánto pagamos? 12 euritos cada uno. ¡Ah, pero ojo! Con un 50% de descuento por tener The Fork. ¡Como un atraco a mano armada, pero al revés!

¡Y eso no es todo! En delivery, ¡2x1 en éxitos! No sé tú, pero esto es más loco que una gallina en patineta.

First try I had delivery and it was still very good I trust it'll be nicer in the restaurant itself, will definitely visit as it's not far from home. I loved that they had added plenty of ginger alongside soy sauce and wasabi. Because some Sushi places in Madrid don't offer ginger for some reason, which I really feel takes away, as it helps to tie the flavours and even help as a palate cleanser.
