The best greek food i’d ever had after so long! To be honest i had a terrible experience years ago with one greek restaurant in HK, and since then I never wanted to try another. But now I walk pass Egeo almost every day in Madrid since it’s in my neighborhood, and I always see it full of people, and in spite of lots of business changes around this one still stands, so I said, what the heck, it probably worth a try. And yes! We came for dinner (group of 4), and I don’t know if they serve the best souvlaki in Madrid or not, but for me it was not disappointing at all. The portion was generous, the food was delicious, the girl attending us (only 1 girl for the whole tables!) was super nice and friendly. It didn’t take long for the food to be served as well. We ordered greek salad, souvlaki mixto, some souvlaki wraps, and for the starter were some croquetas de garbanzos and three salsas. All so yummy. So I will recommend Egeo to my friends, because definitely I want to repeat my visit again, with...
Read moreNew place in malasaña which you should absolutely try: down to earth, authentic and wholesome. The pita bread for the souvlaki is exceptional, the Greek salad that goes with the souvlaki is fresh and quite good but could have been seasoned a little bit more. We got one chorizo souvlaki, which was very good, and one pumpkin one, which was exceptional. The dessert was a sponge cake with an orange and cinnamon syrup which, for me, was the star of the show. The menus are absolutely accessible - the most expensive one is 17 euros and have a souvlaki, salad or chips, drink and dessert. The place is not wheelchair accessible as it has two steps to get in, the bathroom Is also quite small and probably not easy to move around if using a...
Read moreThe person works in this place should get a raise immediately. The person is super hardworking and tries to serve, take orders and do the cashier work. I think the owner is kind of stingy employer.
I would rate their place great if the basic souvlaki menu was around 10Euros. I mean the sandwich is good but it is small. And the menu which includes a small sandwich, fries and lemonade should not be worth 15Euros. They might say “we ship everything from Greece” but that’s just nonsense. I ate souvlaki even in NYC one of the most expensive cities, and souvlaki sandwich cost less than this place.
Edit: The owner is not only stingy but also jerk as can be understood his response to...
