Yea! All 5 stars for this great place in the heart of Madrid. Expectations were high and the place didn’t disappoint. I mean, what can you expect from a restaurant incorporated inside the Official Architect School of Madrid (COAM in Spanish) in the middle of an urban oasis with lots of plants and trees and great lighting all around you? They managed to create a great atmosphere where you hardly notice you’re in the heart of a big city like Madrid. And then it’s the food… it’s already challenging to be able to offer something special when you belong to the wide and vast world of Italian cuisine, yet the chef and team behind this concept managed to deliver some really good creative pieces like the black pizza. Great pasta with generous portions under a good atmosphere created the perfect experience. Of course you can ruin all this with poor service, but here too, we were lucky to have a great team behind the food, knowledgeable, service oriented, fast and eye to detail. Nothing to complain about. Last but not least, I must say… I consider myself an expert when it comes to cheesecakes. I have tried the best cheesecake in the world according to The New York Times, found it in San Sebastián mythical “La Viña” but boy… the cheesecake here is something else… “Parmesan cheesecake” something really special, creamy, delicate, not too sweet, with that salty sour touch from the Parmesan cheese…. If this cheesecake and the one from La Viña were to race together, we would need one of those accurate photo finish images as they would be fractions of a second apart. So yeah, I will come back, and I will recommend you to book in advance and have a...
Read moreYesterday evening I was on a date with my wife and the overall experience was quite average vs the expectations of the place. We got a table next to the bar area, when initially hoped for the library seating, which is calm and cozy. In the begging it was ok, but within an hour time lots people gathered by the bar and it got really chaotic, noisy and crowded like in some taverna.
Doesn’t represent image they created on social media. Don’t think I would return to eat...
Read moreI don’t think I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant as beautiful as this, with such great style, and had such awful food and poor service. We could’ve forgiven the poor service, but the food was inedible, even though we were starving. The Croquets that many rave about were perfectly fried but mush without flavor on the inside was gross. We ate one of four of them, again because we were starving The carbonara was incredibly rich, too rich, and sticky, without any flavor at all; zero pepper. we ordered the app, salad and a pasta dish. A normal restaurant would serve the app with the drinks then serve the pasta and when that was done, serve the salad. Here they served the drinks and then 5 minutes later served all the food at once. We were sitting at the bar and the bartender was extremely surly and basically grunted answers at us —never asked us how anything was, did we want anything, etc. He ignored us as much as possible. It was busy but not that busy. The host was equally oblivious. Please do not waste your evening and money, there are many great restaurants in Madrid and this one was the most disappointing. Don’t be fooled by the...
